Overview

Gomah, who styles himself as King Gomah, is a primary antagonist in Dragon Ball Daima. Originally holding the position of Vice Demon King, he ascended to ruler of the Demon Realm following the death of Dabura. Accompanied by his sidekick Degesu, the younger brother of the East Supreme Kai, Gomah grows deeply suspicious of Son Goku and his allies after learning of their strength. Driven by paranoia, he travels to Earth and uses the Dragon Balls to turn them into children.

Appearance

Gomah is a small demon featuring a white face reminiscent of a clown. He wears a red and white outfit accompanied by a white cape, an item handed down through the Demon Kings. Upon attaching the Third Eye to his forehead, he transforms into Giant Gomah, growing into a heavily muscular figure between four and five meters tall, and capable of expanding up to ten meters.

Personality

Described as cunning and crafty, Gomah exerts severe rule over his domain, levying heavy taxes and stripping lifespans from those who fail to pay. He maintains a harsh demeanor toward his subordinates. At the same time, he possesses a notably human and comedic side, often reacting with visible panic when confronted by overwhelming forces, yet proving surprisingly conscientious about compensating hired workers.

Abilities

Gomah naturally possesses potent magical abilities and formidable combat strength. In his Giant Gomah form powered by the Third Eye, he gains telekinesis, powerful energy blasts, and an extraordinary regenerative capability that instantly heals even fatal damage through total immortality. His weakness lies in the Third Eye itself, which detaches if the back of his head receives three consecutive hard strikes, reverting him to his original form.

Background

Formerly the Vice Demon King under Dabura, Gomah assumed control of the Demon Realm after Dabura was killed by Majin Buu. Fearing Goku's group for overcoming Buu, Gomah journeyed to Earth alongside Degesu and Neva to use the Dragon Balls, wishing Goku and his comrades into young children and kidnapping Dende as a baby. This scheme backfired by compelling Goku's team to invade the Demon Realm. After acquiring the Third Eye and waging battle in his giant form, Gomah was eventually defeated and sentenced to 99 years of confinement inside a small bottle.

Relationships

Gomah employs Degesu, the brother of the East Supreme Kai, as his primary advisor and treats him sternly. He views himself as the rightful successor to Dabura and Abura, wearing the same cape symbolic of the title of Demon King. He regards Son Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo as massive threats, prompting him to preemptively target them on Earth. Following his defeat, he is sealed inside a bottle alongside Degesu, where the two spend their time playing video games together.

Trivia

Gomah's name is derived from the phrase 'Open Sesame' from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Upon transforming into Giant Gomah, his red and black muscular aesthetic gained comparison among fans to other heavily built warriors in the franchise. During their encounters, Son Goku repeatedly misremembers his title, calling him King Tama instead of King Gomah.
