Overview
Awata Kaoruko, known by her hero name Bubble Girl, is a character in My Hero Academia. She is a young Pro Hero working as a sidekick at the Nighteye Agency under Sir Nighteye. In addition to managing administrative tasks and agency meetings, she actively participates in field investigations and combat operations.
Appearance
She has blue skin, short blue hair, yellow eyes, and a facial mole. She wears a visor-style mask resembling a diving goggle on her head. Her hero costume includes a cropped short-sleeved blue shirt under a cropped white jacket that exposes her midriff, paired with blue gloves, blue leggings under unbuttoned white shorts, and white knee-high boots. She also wears earrings.
Personality
Bubble Girl is a bright, earnest, and friendly individual who easily hits it off with newcomers. Although she works hard, she is prone to nervousness when speaking in front of crowds, causing her speech to become stiff. She frequently worries about being dismissed by Sir Nighteye due to her lack of humor, which often leads to punishment, yet she remains dedicated and composed when executing her professional duties.
Abilities
Her Quirk is Bubble, which enables her to generate bubbles from her body to blind and disorient opponents during combat. She uses a special technique called Perfume Bubble. While her bubbles normally emit a highly pleasant fragrance, becoming nervous causes her body to produce extremely foul-smelling bubbles instead.
Background
Originally created as a winning entry in a fan design contest hosted on Pixiv, she was integrated into the official series with updated settings as a 21-year-old Pro Hero from Ehime Prefecture. As a sidekick at the Nighteye Agency, she handles both office logistics and frontline operations, playing an active role during the joint raid against the Shie Hassaikai syndicate.
Relationships
She works directly under Sir Nighteye, with whom she shares a casual rapport despite regularly being subjected to his tickle machine for lacking humor. She collaborates closely with her fellow sidekick Centipeder on administrative and operational tasks. She also acts as a senior figure to interns Izuku Midoriya and Mirio Togata.
Trivia
Her favorite thing is taking baths. In her original contest design, she was envisioned as a 16-year-old student at U.A. High School with a translucent body who admired Tsuyu Asui for her calm judgment, though these details were adjusted upon her official debut.
