Exhausted by family conflict, Rei suffered a mental breakdown and accidentally burned Shouto with boiling water, leading to her institutionalization at Fujiya Hospital for ten years. Following Shouto's visit after the U.A. Sports Festival, they reconciled. She later played a pivotal role in confronting the family's past during the hero society crisis.
