Appearance
Tatsuma Ryuko is a woman with short blonde hair styled so that one eye is concealed, adorned with a claw-shaped hair ornament that doubles as a combat weapon. Her hero outfit consists of a wine-red, cheongsam-inspired dress featuring prominent side slits. In casual settings, she wears a hoodie paired with a jacket, retaining her hairstyle that covers one eye even without her accessory. When her Quirk is active, her body expands into a massive dragon equipped with a pair of wings on her back.
Personality
While Tatsuma Ryuko presents a cool and serene exterior, she possesses a warm, friendly demeanor and acts as a dependable big sister figure to her juniors. Despite her outstanding rank as a hero, she remains extraordinarily humble. She holds herself to a strict standard, remembering lives she was unable to save and openly questioning whether she deserves her elevated ranking. At official public events, she appears noticeably uncomfortable compared to her usual calm self. She also holds a personal affection for bright, shiny objects.
Abilities
Tatsuma Ryuko possesses the Quirk "Dragon," which grants her the ability to transform into a large winged dragon capable of airborne flight and gliding. In this transformed state, her physical power increases significantly, enabling her to overpower standard opponents with a single hand. Her claw-like hair accessory functions as a weapon during combat. Her signature special attacks include Dragoon Punish and Wing Slash. In animated adaptations, her voice shifts to a lower pitch while her Quirk is engaged.
Background
As a Pro Hero heading her own agency, Tatsuma Ryuko established a top-tier reputation, achieving 9th and subsequently 10th place on the Hero Billboard Chart JP. She took in U.A. High School student Hado Nejire as an intern, later expanding her mentorship to include Ochako Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui upon Hado's recommendation. While building teamwork among her interns during street patrols, she was summoned by Sir Nighteye to assist in a joint operation against the Shie Hassaikai criminal group. During the raid on the syndicate's headquarters, Ryukyu and her interns engaged and subdued the villain Rikiya Katsukame at the main entrance. She continued to mentor the same trio during the winter work-study period.
Relationships
Ryukyu shares a strong bond with her intern Hado Nejire, who introduced lowerclassmen Ochako Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui to her agency. Ryukyu welcomed both Uraraka and Asui, guiding their growth through practical field training. She maintains a professional relationship with Sir Nighteye, who personally requested her assistance for the Shie Hassaikai raid. During that operation, Ryukyu and her three interns fought side by side against Shie Hassaikai member Rikiya Katsukame to secure the entry threshold.
