Appearance
Duke Inferno is a plasma lifeform whose head resembles a burning goat with two curved horns. He wears a crown atop his flaming head and a monocle over one eye. His outfit consists of a dark formal suit paired with a necktie and white gloves. Visually, he also possesses grey eyes.
Personality
Presenting himself as a theatrical conductor of catastrophe, Duke Inferno treats wholesale destruction as both a grand performance and a holy pilgrimage. Although he carries himself with polished formality, his destructive acts are tainted by vanity and a desire for conquest, causing his beloved Aeon Nanook to utterly ignore him. Undeterred by this lack of divine recognition, he remains unshakeably devout. When confronted with inescapable death, he resolutely refuses to flee, embracing his end to preserve his uncompromising belief in destruction.
Abilities
Duke Inferno commands a specialized flame known as netherfire, which shares an origin with Phase Flames. This fire possesses spatial teleportation properties that allow him to warp objects and individuals across distances, though it is less precise than true phase shifting. By detaching flames infused with his own consciousness, he can manipulate events remotely, trap targets in pocket dimensions, or summon waves of monsters to attack. He also carries a spiked short baton during his operations.
Background
Ifrit came into being on the planet Tophet after Nanook laid the world to waste, giving birth to the Fire Demon race from the leftover burning embers. Embracing his homeworld's ruin as a divine blessing, he fashioned a crown from its ashes and established the Ever-Flame Mansion to spread chaos throughout the universe. He later instigated an internal crisis at Herta Space Station by manipulating personnel using his netherfire. Upon receiving an invitation to Penacony's Charmony Festival, he gathered his four child proteges and formally declared war on major galactic factions. However, en route to Penacony, his vessel was ambushed by Acheron, resulting in his utter defeat and death before he could reach the planet.

Duke Inferno harbors a completely one-sided, fanatical devotion toward Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction. As leader of the Ever-Flame Mansion, he acts as a father and commander to his four subordinates: Akash, Dubra, Caterina, and Constance. He held a intense enmity toward the Yapella Brotherhood, another faction of the Annihilation Gang. His infiltration plot at Herta Space Station was thwarted through the efforts of Dr. Ratio and Screwllum, and his life was ultimately ended by Acheron during his journey to Penacony.
Trivia
His real name, Ifrit, originates from the fire spirit of the same name in Islamic folklore. His home planet, Tophet, takes its name from a biblical location near Jerusalem associated with sacrificial fires. The in-game Cavern Relic set 'The Ashblazing Grand Duke' is directly inspired by him, and he is also referenced by the moniker 'South Emperor' within lore texts connected to the Xianzhou Luofu's Luminary Martial Ceremony.
