Evanescia

Overview

Evanescia is a 5-star Physical character following the Path of Elation in Honkai: Star Rail. Operating within the realm of Amphoreus, she fulfills the role of the Arbiter who oversees and conducts the Phantasmagoria game. While presenting herself in the manner of a modern female student, she is in truth an incarnation derived from the Ambrosial Arbor of Abundance, now rooted in the domain of Elation.

Appearance

Evanescia features short pink hair flanked by long sidelocks, distinct purple eyes, and remarkably long fox ears reminiscent of rabbit ears. Her head is adorned with a cherry blossom hair piece and a red ribbon. Her attire fuses traditional furisode elements with student apparel, consisting of a cropped white floral-patterned jacket over a collared white shirt, paired with a black pleated skirt. She wears black pantyhose, a single thigh band on her left leg, black boots, and carries a heavily decorated ruler styled as a large blade.

Personality

Evanescia exhibits a bright and cheerful demeanor, demonstrating a keen interest in youth culture and contemporary subcultures. She is particularly passionate about a popular manga inspired by the Astral Express, often attempting to reenact youth-centric scenes featured within its pages. Despite her youthful appearance and modern habits, her manner of speech is archaic and formal. Having spent extensive time in a fun-loving domain, her temperament has softened substantially compared to her former stern nature as the Ambrosial Arbor, making her far more easygoing.

Abilities

In battle, Evanescia channels the dual energies of Abundance and Elation, leveraging her specialized skills to act as a primary damage dealer. Her offensive mechanics tie directly into Energy recovery, allowing her to build up combat potency as her energy restores. While she naturally excels alongside fellow followers of Elation, her versatile skill set also enables her to integrate effectively into mixed party compositions alongside characters from other Paths.

Background

Originally a seeker of immortality similar to the Xianzhou people, Evanescia eventually transformed into a branch of the Ambrosial Arbor within the sacred garden of Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance. Her existence changed drastically when Aha, the Aeon of Elation, invaded the garden, uprooted her, and replanted her in the realm of Amphoreus. Bestowed with the duty of overseeing the Phantasmagoria game, she gradually adapted to her assigned role and developed a profound affection for the modern world's vibrant era and culture over the centuries.

Relationships

Evanescia holds direct historical ties to Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance, in whose garden she once took root, as well as Aha, the Aeon of Elation, who seized her from that garden and placed her in Amphoreus. She also harbors a deep admiration for the Trailblazer and the Astral Express, frequently expressing enthusiasm for the comic adaptation of their journey and holding the protagonist in high regard as a true heroic lead.

Trivia

Evanescia serves as the parallel counterpart to Yae Sakura from Honkai Impact 3rd and Yae Miko from Genshin Impact. While sharing familiar visual traits such as pink hair, fox ears, and an archaic speaking style, her vocal presentation is noticeably more youthful than her counterparts. Additionally, her English name, Evanescia, is believed to be derived from the word "evanescence," symbolizing transience and fleeting moments.
