Overview
Yukong is a character from Honkai: Star Rail who serves as the Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission on the Xianzhou Luofu. Once a legendary ace pilot and skilled archer, she survived fierce wars and now manages administrative duties with a calm, seasoned demeanor while guiding the ship's path.
Appearance
Yukong is a Foxian woman with long teal-to-green gradient hair featuring M-shaped bangs, purple eyes with vertical slit pupils, fox ears, and a tail. She wears a sleeveless white dress with bare shoulders, a center chest opening, and fur trim, paired with black detached sleeves, black short shorts, a single thigh strap on her left leg, and black high heels. She carries a distinctive bow as her weapon.
Personality
Yukong possesses a gentle, calm, and highly experienced demeanor. In her youth, she was hot-tempered and rebellious, famously earning the nickname of a delinquent before proving her mastery as an ace pilot. Tragically losing her close comrade in war left her deeply scarred, leading her to feel emotionally aged and hesitant to ever fly again. While fiercely protective of her adoptive daughter, she is ultimately capable of recognizing her growth and granting her freedom.
Abilities
Yukong is an Imaginary-element character following the Path of Harmony. Her Skill grants counts of a special command that significantly increases the Attack of all allies. When activating her Ultimate while this effect is active, she amplifies the party's Critical Rate and Critical Damage while delivering heavy Imaginary damage to a single enemy. Her bow utilizes auto-targeting arrows, making the physical drawing of the string a ceremonial tradition.
Background
Yukong began her career as an exceptionally skilled pilot before rising through the ranks to lead the Sky-Faring Commission. During a brutal conflict with the Abominations of Abundance, her closest comrade Caiyi lost her life, leaving Yukong with deep trauma and a broken heart that forced her to step away from the skies to focus on administrative work. She raised Caiyi's daughter, Qingni, as her own, initially trying to shield her from the dangers of flight before eventually accepting her choice to follow in her mother's footsteps. When her subordinate Tingyun vanished during the Ambrosial Arbor crisis, Yukong helped organize a solemn ceremony to honor her memory.
Relationships
Jing Yuan is her superior officer who recognized her flying talents early on. Qingni is her adopted daughter—and the child of her late co-pilot Caiyi—whom Yukong raised with immense care and protective instinct. Caiyi was her cherished comrade whose death in battle reshaped Yukong's view on life. Tingyun and Xikui serve as her capable subordinates, with Tingyun's loss affecting her deeply. She also shares a long-standing comradeship with Feixiao of the Xianzhou Yaoqing.
Trivia
Her name literally translates to controlling or riding the sky. On the local Luofu network, she uses the handle 'Rain and Rainbow 7854', a numeric code that hints at her birth year and places her age at 246 years. Among the long-lived Foxians, she considers herself to be in her later years, often reflecting philosophically on the passage of time.
