Evernight

Overview

Evernight is a 5-star Ice character walking the Path of Remembrance in Honkai: Star Rail. Appearing in Amphoreus as one of the Chrysos Heirs, she is a memetic entity born from the shadows of the Memory Zone. Sharing a striking physical resemblance to March 7th while exuding a vastly different aura, she acts as her counterpart and protective system. Harnessing powerful forces of oblivion, she dedicates herself to safeguarding March 7th's journey of Trailblaze at any cost.

Appearance

She has pink hair styled in low twintails with M-shaped hair between her eyes, long split hair, hair clips, and a hair flower, paired with dark red eyes. Her attire features a layered black-and-white dress exposing her right shoulder under a black half-jacket, paired with gloves, earrings, a thigh strap on her right leg, and fold-over boots. A red flower and an inverted star rail pass adorn her outfit. She carries a black umbrella with a red floral inner print and is accompanied by jellyfish-like entities named Evey.

Personality

She refers to herself with a casual feminine pronoun and occasionally speaks with a musical flat symbol (♭) tone. Though calm and calculating on the surface, she possesses a fierce, obsessive devotion toward March 7th. To ensure March 7th can continue her journey smoothly, she willingly employs ruthless methods without hesitation, harbouring deep hostility toward forces like the Garden of Recollection. Despite her dark nature, she shares March 7th's keen eye for fashion and photography.

Abilities

In battle, she summons the memetic entity Evey to support allies while gradually increasing her offensive capabilities. She consumes her own HP to summon Evey and builds stacks of Remembrance to trigger empowered attacks. Entering the Enigmatic Depths state grants damage boosts and control-debuff resistance. By consuming all stored Remembrance, she causes Evey to perform a powerful self-destructive strike that boosts her own Speed upon exit. Her technique and passive abilities further boost critical attributes and recover SP and EP for the team.

Background

She was the catalyst behind March 7th losing her memories before joining the Astral Express, having erased those memories and entered slumber to protect her from constant pursuit by Memokeepers. Reappearing during the crisis in Amphoreus as a Chrysos Heir associated with the Demiurge of Time, she sought to rewrite reality and wipe away memories to defeat a corrupting cosmic threat. However, after being persuaded by March 7th herself, she surrendered her powers to her counterpart and retreated back into the depths of her consciousness.

Relationships

She regards March 7th as her most precious counterpart and is completely dedicated to fulfilling her wishes. While she looks out for Trailblazer and Dan Heng due to their connection to March 7th, Dan Heng remains wary of her. She acts as a relentless nemesis to the Memokeepers of the Garden of Recollection, including Black Swan, treating them with absolute harshness. She also demonstrates a provocative attitude toward Sunday when he attempts to interfere with memories.

Trivia

Her official artwork features text in the Amphoreus script that translates to 'We were never apart.' Official media represents her character using the emoticon ¿(⦁ᴗ⦁✢)☂︎. Furthermore, the names and visual concepts of her Eidolons directly parallel those of March 7th's Preservation form.
