Overview
Fugue is a female Foxian playable character from Xianzhou Luofu in Honkai: Star Rail. Associated with the Nihility Path and the Fire element, she is the reborn form of a merchant whose identity and body were stolen by the Lord Ravager Phantylia, now wandering the cosmos while carrying the lingering imprint of Destruction.
Appearance
Fugue has long brown hair with strands falling between her green eyes, alongside prominent fox ears. Following her physical reconstruction, she possesses nine fox tails. Her outfit comprises a long-sleeved black dress featuring a floral pattern and exposed shoulders, secured with a golden sash, paired with high heels. Her fingernails are painted red.
Personality
Fugue is a silver-tongued individual who maintains a polite, universally affable demeanor. Despite enduring near-fatal corruption and losing her identity, she remains composed and continues to express deep gratitude toward those who aided her, demonstrating remarkable inner resilience by accepting the dark influence left within her body.
Abilities
Fugue functions as a specialized support character centered on weakness breaks. Her talent allows allies attacking weakness-broken enemies to inflict Super Break damage. Her skill increases a target ally's Break Effect while lowering enemy defense, modifying her normal attack into a blast attack during its duration. Her ultimate deals Fire damage to all enemies while reducing Toughness regardless of weakness type, and her traces further advance ally actions and increase Break Effect across the team.
Background
Formerly a chief representative of the Tingyun identity within the Skyfaring Commission on Xianzhou Luofu, she was attacked by Phantylia, who usurped her form to cause chaos. Though presumed dead, she was rescued near the brink of destruction through an arrangement involving Luocha and Ruan Mei of the Genius Society. Ruan Mei reconstructed her compromised body, resulting in her current nine-tailed form, after which she set out into the stars while seeking a way home.
Relationships
Yukong served as her superior and long-time guardian from childhood. Phantylia is her mortal enemy who stripped away her identity. Ruan Mei is the benefactor who saved and reconstructed her body, while Luocha facilitated the deal that enabled her rescue. She warmly regards the Astral Express crew—including the Trailblazer, March 7th, Dan Heng, Himeko, and Welt—as her benefactors for assisting her return to the Luofu upon her recovery.
Trivia
Fugue represents the 5-star variant of the Foxian character Tingyun, distinct from her original Harmony form in both element and combat focus. In battle strategies, she pairs exceptionally well with characters centered around weakness break mechanics, such as Firefly, Boothill, and Rappa.
