Lygus

Overview

Lygus, also known by his full name Lycurgus, is a male mechanical lifeform appearing in Honkai: Star Rail. Serving as the Chairman of the Council of Elders in the city of Okhema, he stands out as a highly respected and impartial politician who defends the rights of its citizens. Alongside his civic duties, he works as a scholar and teacher of the ancient Titan language.

Appearance

Lygus is a non-humanoid mechanical lifeform of the Antikytheran species with visible robot joints, mechanical arms, and extra arms. He has long, curly white hair with parted bangs, secured by a blue hairband, along with animal-ear-like appendages, a helmet, and shoulder armor. His eyes feature blue and yellow irises with black sclera, complemented by colored skin and a distinctive hole in his chest.

Personality

Lygus maintains a completely calm, polite, and unshakeable confidence, standing firm in his fairness despite surrounding political corruption. Even when dealing with opponents or outside intruders, he remains composed and reassuringly self-assured, frequently engaging them with explanatory discourse.

Abilities

In addition to his academic command of the ancient Titan language, Lygus perceives the world through soul amplitude and frequency rather than conventional sight, allowing him to perceive unique phenomena such as Aglaea's golden threads. He is also capable of managing temporal firewalls to block external interference.

Background

Lygus is one of the few surviving Antikytherans, a mechanical species devastated during the ancient Golden War. While publicly acting as an elder and educator in Okhema, he serves a secret role as the warden of Omphalos, safeguarding it from outside interference. He is an Emanator who received the gaze of the Aeon of Erudition, Nous, and is ultimately a fragment of Zandar One Kuwabara, the founder of the Genius Society.

Relationships

Lygus confronts members of the Genius Society such as Herta and Screwllum, warning them against interfering with Omphalos before they manage to breach his temporal defenses. When interacting with the Trailblazer, he maintains a provoking yet explanatory attitude. Through his sensing capabilities, he is also aware of other figures like Aglaea and Anakes.

Trivia

Although his formal name is Lycurgus, he explicitly requests to be called Lygus. His design features a striking contrast between his refined academic aesthetic and his mechanical nature, highlighted by the distinct hollow void in his chest and his multiple robotic arms.
