Partnered with a Warp Trotter named Numby, she leads a specialized debt recovery team across the cosmos. In gameplay, she represents the Fire element and follows the Path of The Hunt.
Appearance
Topaz features medium-length grey-white hair with distinct red streaks, stylized hair ornaments, and blue sharp-cornered eyes with diamond-shaped pupils. Her standard outfit consists of a sleeveless white buttoned shirt paired with a thigh-length black unitard with bare shoulders, detached sleeves, and an IPC medal on her left breast side. She wears black gloves, a black belt, a red thigh strap on her right leg, and black knee-high high-heeled boots.
Personality
Topaz is a dedicated workaholic who believes that money is merely a means and that engaging in work is the source of happiness. While she maintains a strict, unyielding attitude as a corporate debt collector, she possesses deep empathy formed by her home planet's history of being saved by the IPC. Driven by a desire to preserve struggling civilizations, she balances cold business ethics with genuine compassion. Additionally, she has a huge soft spot for cute animals.
Abilities
Topaz fights alongside her Warp Trotter companion, Numby, who can sense wealth and assist in financial tasks, security, and combat. In battle, she utilizes a handgun that fires gold coins. She also possesses the power of her Stoneheart cornerstone and holds access to master source codes capable of controlling automated mechs across an entire planet.
Background
Raised on a destitute, polluted planet saved by IPC intervention, Jelena joined the IPC's Strategic Investment Department at a young age to bring similar salvation to other troubled worlds. Rising through the ranks with exceptional merit, she assumed the title Topaz as one of the Ten Stonehearts. During a high-stakes debt recovery operation on Jarilo-VI, she witnessed the citizens' internal resolve to rebuild, leading her to adjust her proposal at the cost of a corporate demotion. She subsequently shifted her focus toward major operations in Penacony alongside her fellow executives.
Relationships
Topaz operates under higher-ups Diamond and Jade within the Strategic Investment Department and collaborates closely with fellow Ten Stonehearts members such as Aventurine. Her Warp Trotter, Numby, serves as her official IPC-employed partner. Through her diplomatic debt negotiations, she formed complex bonds with Jarilo-VI figures including Bronya Rand, Svarog, and Clara. She maintains a friendly rapport with the Astral Express crew—including the Trailblazer, March 7th, and Himeko—and collaborates on joint projects with Herta and Asta.
Trivia
In the game's Aetherium Wars event, Topaz is featured as the reigning champion of the previous tournament. She also frequently appears as an instructor or spokesperson in official promotional videos and web events demonstrating IPC trading processes.
