Overview
Phantylia is a character in Honkai: Star Rail. As one of the Seven Lord Ravagers serving Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction, she is a member of the formless Heliobus race who seeks the complete annihilation of civilizations by triggering their internal and spiritual collapse. During the crisis on the Xianzhou Luofu, she weaves together the powers of both Destruction and Abundance, fashioning a massive physical body known as the Undying Divine Fruit from the revived Ambrosial Arbor to clash directly with the Nameless and the Cloud Knights.
Appearance
Naturally lacking a fixed physical body, Phantylia assumes a giant, voluptuous female form when constructing her vessel, the Undying Divine Fruit, from the Ambrosial Arbor. This form exhibits bare shoulders, unique skin coloration, long fingernails, a dress, hair ornaments, jewelry, and a palm fan. Her hair and eye color shift across three phases: black hair with green eyes in the first phase, blue hair with blue eyes in the second, and golden hair with golden eyes in the final phase. She also manifests a duplicate taking on the appearance of Tingyun.
Personality
Phantylia possesses a twisted aesthetic that favors internal ruin, mistrust, and self-destruction over mere physical violence. Communicating with an elegant yet condescending demeanor, she treats mortal beings as insignificant insects while subtly inciting fanatical revenge and panic. Beneath her confident and calm facade lies a deep-seated fear of her own eventual erasure by Destruction, prompting a desperate desire for an unyielding, eternal vessel. When her constructed body is shattered, she maintains a composure on the surface that masks immense rage and resentment.
Abilities
Phantylia wields the dual authorities of Destruction and Abundance. In combat, she summons Abundance Lotuses and Destruction Lotuses. Abundance Lotuses drain Skill Points while healing themselves, restoring Skill Points to foes when defeated. Destruction Lotuses lock onto targets to inflict maximum HP reductions and deal defense-ignoring lightning damage based on maximum health. Phantylia herself unleashes Wind, Lightning, and Imaginary elemental attacks across multiple phases, delaying enemy action order and unleashing devastating area-of-effect strikes.
Background
Emerging as a spirit of the Heliobus race, Phantylia rose to become a Lord Ravager under Nanook. According to Interastral Peace Corporation records, she secretly brought over a hundred worlds to ruin by dismantling their mental and social stability prior to the Antimatter Legion's arrival. Targeting the Xianzhou Alliance, she impersonated the Foxian diplomat Tingyun to infiltrate the Xianzhou Luofu, aligning with the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus to resurrect the Ambrosial Arbor. After constructing a gigantic body from its power, she was defeated when Jing Yuan and Dan Heng severed her link to the Arbor. Forced to flee, she later adopted the alias Mangus to manipulate the Borisin and orchestrate the escape of warmaster Hoolay, continuing her stealthy campaign against the Alliance.
Relationships
Phantylia serves the Aeon of Destruction, Nanook, as one of the seven Lord Ravagers alongside peers such as Zephyro and Iron Tomb. She seeks to exploit the power of Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance, to secure immortality. During her operations on the Xianzhou Luofu, she assumed the form of Tingyun to deceive the Nameless and Cloud Knights. She attempted to corrupt General Jing Yuan into a Voidranger, but her plans were thwarted when Jing Yuan teamed with Dan Heng to shatter her vessel. Later, under a false identity, she manipulated the Borisin warmaster Hoolay as a disposable pawn, drawing the hostile attention of General Feixiao of the Xianzhou Yaoqing.
Trivia
Phantylia is introduced as an Echo of War boss and holds the distinction of being the first boss in the game to feature three sequential battle phases. Her boss battle soundtrack, "Pedigree of Chants," adapts the traditional Dong Folk Song "Song of Cicadas," blending electronic Dong liturgical recitations with female vocals to highlight her sinister nature and the alluring praise of life tied to Abundance. Additionally, her alias "Mangus," used while rallying the Borisin, is named after the demonic figure found in Mongolian heroic epics.
