Overview
Moze is a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail who treads the Path of The Hunt with the Lightning element. Serving as a shadow guard under General Feixiao of the Xianzhou Yaoqing, he operates in the background to handle covert intelligence and assassination assignments. Highly reticent and solitary, Moze rarely reveals himself to the public. Originally a short-life species orphan manipulated by the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, he was taken in by Feixiao and now serves as her shadow guard while maintaining a personal pact of vengeance against her.
Appearance
Moze features short grey hair with locks falling between his eyes, paired with purple eyes. He possesses a muscular physique marked with scars. His outfit consists of a purple shirt beneath a purple hooded jacket, complemented by a purple waist cape fastened with a black belt. He wears black gloves, black pants, and black boots, carrying daggers as his primary weapons.
Personality
Moze is taciturn, detached, and solitary, preferring silence over engaging in unnecessary conversation. He exhibits an extraordinary fixation on cleanliness and order, enjoying cleaning and bathing to keep things spotless. This perfectionism extends to his everyday habits, such as strictly adhering to proper sentence-ending punctuation in text messages and rating merchants based entirely on how neatly food or drink containers are presented. Despite his cold assassin persona, he carries out his duties with rigorous discipline.
Abilities
Moze is a Lightning-attribute damage dealer following the Path of The Hunt who relies on daggers for combat. His Skill designates an enemy as Prey, dealing Lightning damage and causing Moze to leave the battlefield temporarily. While an enemy is marked, ally attacks trigger additional Lightning damage and charge consumption, leading to Moze launching follow-up attacks. His Ultimate delivers heavy single-target damage followed by an immediate follow-up attack. Additionally, his Technique grants temporary invisibility, letting him avoid detection before initiating combat with amplified damage.
Background
Originally a short-life species orphan, Moze was taken by the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, subjected to agonizing drug experiments, and brainwashed into believing they were his family. When General Feixiao neutralized the faction, Moze attempted to assassinate her. Instead of executing him, Feixiao offered to take him in under the condition that he live a structured life and serve as her shadow guard, granting him permission to challenge her for revenge at any time. Accepting the pact, he became a covert shadow guard for the Xianzhou Yaoqing, gaining the nickname Raven-Feathered Weirdo. During the prison break crisis on the Xianzhou Luofu, he utilized his stealth capabilities to track the Borisin, coordinate with allies, and rescue Jiaoqiu.
Relationships
Moze serves Feixiao as his General and savior, while simultaneously holding a standing agreement that permits him to attempt her assassination in revenge for his past. His colleague Jiaoqiu, a Foxian physician and strategist, frequently accompanies him and often speaks on his behalf due to Moze's reticent nature. He also formed a cooperative relationship with the Trailblazer during the Borisin insurrection on the Xianzhou Luofu, fighting alongside them to resolve the crisis.
Trivia
Moze's name is derived from a mythical beast described in the Tang dynasty text Youyang Zazu. In-game, he has a tendency to hide in high, concealed places such as overhead beams; locating him hidden above the martial arts stage using a Cycrane unlocks the achievement Walk in Darkness, Serve in Light.
