Overview
Coco Jumbo is an animal Stand user appearing in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind. Kept by the Italian gang Passione, the turtle was dispatched by the Boss to assist Bruno Bucciarati's squad during their mission to protect Trish Una. By placing a specialized key into the socket on its shell, it creates a hidden, comfortable room that functions as a secure mobile hideout for the team during their escape from enemy assassins.
Appearance
Coco Jumbo is a small turtle with a maximum shell diameter of approximately 30 centimeters, compact enough to be carried in one hand by an adult male. Its shell features a dedicated groove designed to accommodate a special key fitted with a red gemstone.
Personality
Unlike other animal Stand users in the series who possess human-level intellect, Coco Jumbo exhibits the normal intelligence of an ordinary reptile. It lacks self-awareness and cannot activate its Stand on its own initiative, relying instead on conditioned responses triggered by the key. Throughout its journey, it remains passive, mild-mannered, and content to be carried by others.
Abilities
Coco Jumbo possesses the Stand Mister President. When a key with a red jewel is inserted into the groove on its shell, a spacious and comfortable room is generated inside the turtle and key. The interior is furnished with items such as a couch, a working television, and a powered refrigerator, though it lacks bathroom facilities like a toilet. While active, occupants can view the outside world through the jewel functioning as a skylight and can enter or exit freely.
Background
Controlled by the gang Passione, Coco Jumbo was handed over alongside a key to Bruno Bucciarati's team at Neapolis Station under orders from the Boss. It served as a covert shelter during their protection of Trish Una and remained with the squad even after they turned against the organization. During the final showdown in Rome, it was affected by Silver Chariot Requiem, causing its soul to temporarily swap with Jean-Pierre Polnareff. After the conflict resolved, it was seen remaining alongside Giorno Giovanna and Guido Mista.
Relationships
The Passione Boss, Diavolo, utilized Coco Jumbo as a functional tool for high-priority missions. Bruno Bucciarati, Trish Una, and their companions relied on the turtle as a safe transportation hub and cared for it throughout their journey. During the events in Rome, Jean-Pierre Polnareff swapped souls with the turtle, and even after the swap was reversed, Polnareff's spirit continued to reside inside the Stand's interior space.
Trivia
Neither the turtle's name Coco Jumbo nor its Stand name Mister President appeared within the narrative of the original manga; both were designated in later official character profiles and materials. Its name originates from the song "Coco Jamboo" by the German dance-pop group Mr. President, which also inspired the Stand's title. Additionally, during the early planning phases, the Stand was tentatively named "T-Rex".
