Overview
Pet Shop is a falcon featured in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. As a member of the Egypt 9 Glory Gods and the animal guard of DIO Brando's Egyptian mansion, it ruthlessly eliminates anyone attempting to search for or enter the lair. Possessing extraordinary intelligence for a bird, Pet Shop faithfully obeys DIO's commands and serves as a deadly antagonist.
Appearance
Pet Shop is a falcon with blue eyes, sharp talons, and a distinct beak. It wears a red or pink scarf around its neck and a leather falconry hood equipped with ornamental feathers atop its head, styled similarly to goggles. In combat, it exhibits non-avian behaviors such as licking its own blood from its wing and forming a sinister smile with its beak.
Personality
Pet Shop is sadistically ruthless and completely unyielding. Highly intelligent, it understands speech and complex situations, yet it rejects any form of mercy or negotiation. Once it identifies a target, it pursues them with absolute tenacity regardless of where they hide. It holds unwavering loyalty toward DIO and takes cruel satisfaction in slaughtering intruders.
Abilities
Pet Shop wields the Stand Horus, a entity resembling a pterosaur skeleton that manipulates extreme cold and ice. It can freeze its surroundings and launch rapid-fire barrage of sharp icicle missiles, as well as freeze its own wounds to stop bleeding. Naturally gifted with extreme speed exceeding 300 km/h in dives, exceptional eyesight, and agile flight, it can also use its air sacs to fight underwater or under low-oxygen conditions for extended periods.
Background
Assigned to guard DIO's mansion, Pet Shop spent its days patrolling the perimeter and eliminating all curious eyes, including a beggar sent to gather information and stray dogs. When Iggy stepped in to protect a human child seeking his lost dogs, Pet Shop turned its aggressive tracking onto the Boston Terrier. Following a desperate battle across sewers and underwater terrain, Pet Shop was killed when Iggy clamped its beak shut, forcing an ice missile to detonate inside its mouth.
Relationships
Pet Shop is intensely loyal to its master, DIO Brando. It shares a fierce rivalry and mortal conflict with Iggy, the dog Stand user who challenged it to save a young boy. It also attacks and kills an informant hired by Muhammad Avdol to locate the mansion, as well as any animal or human approaching DIO's domain.
Trivia
The character's name is derived from the British synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. In Capcom's 2D fighting game 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future', Pet Shop gained notoriety for its flight mobility and projectile spam, making it so overpowered that it was frequently banned from competitive tournaments.
