Overview

Trish Una is the central heroine of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. As the secret daughter of Passione's mob boss, Diavolo, she serves as a pivotal character whose existence triggers the major conflict of the story. Targeted by rebellious faction members seeking to uncover the boss's identity, she is placed under the protection of Bruno Bucciarati's bodyguard squad. Though initially behaving as a spoiled and distant teenager, her experiences alongside the team forge her inner strength, turning her into a resolute figure who fights for her own survival.

Appearance

Trish has short pink hair with slight waves and is depicted with blue eyes in the colored manga and green eyes in the anime adaptation. Her signature ensemble features an upper garment exposing her shoulders and midriff, paired with a long pareo-style skirt covered in mathematical symbols. She accessorizes with a choker, earrings, jewelry, polished nails, and boots. In the original manga, she initially wore a more covered top before adopting her iconic outfit during the Florence train arc, whereas the animated series presents her in this outfit from her debut.

Personality

Initially portrayed as high-handed, demanding, and intensely mysophobic, Trish refuses anything she deems unrefined, showing disdain for insects, foul odors, and distasteful environments while insisting on specific water brands and high fashion. Beneath this guarded exterior, however, lies an anxious teenager uncertain of her future. As she witnesses the selfless dedication of Bucciarati's squad, her demeanor softens. Her underlying fortitude blossoms into a fierce determination to master her own destiny, allowing her to open up and build deep, trusting bonds of camaraderie with the guard team.

Abilities

Trish commands the Stand Spice Girl, a sentient female humanoid Stand with a surface pattern resembling King Crimson. While typically polite in demeanor, the Stand displays a fierce personality in battle, releasing rapid strike barrages accompanied by a distinctive shout. Her power allows her to make any physical object she touches extremely soft and elastic, ranging from rubbery flexibility to near-amorphous malleability. This ability can cushion incoming kinetic damage such as gunshots when applied to her own body, and complex objects like clocks retain their normal functionality even while softened.

Background

Raised solely by her mother, Donatella Una, Trish's quiet life unravelled following her mother's passing. As efforts were made to locate her estranged father, it became evident that he was Diavolo, the secretive leader of Passione. Becoming a prime target for rival factions eager to uncover the boss's identity, she was placed under the protection of Bruno Bucciarati's team via the executive Pericolo. Her world shattered further upon discovering that her father's sole motive was to execute her to permanently erase his own past, driving her to abandon all illusions and fight alongside her protectors for her survival.

Relationships

Trish forms an intense bond of trust with Bruno Bucciarati, holding deep admiration for his unwavering resolve to protect her. She shares a close, candid friendship with Narancia Ghirga after an initial period of bickering, as he easily empathizes with her plight. Her relationship with Guido Mista takes a comical turn when their bodies are swapped, resulting in her vocal disgust over his physical hygiene, though they ultimately grow fond of each other. Conversely, her relationship with her biological father, Diavolo, is defined by antagonism, as she rejects his ruthless intent to erase her existence.

Trivia

Her name is derived from American fashion model Trish Goff, while her surname "Una" corresponds to the feminine form of the number one in Italian. Early printed editions of the manga contained occasional typographical errors referring to her as "Trish Uno." While a single manga panel rendered her undergarment in light pink, subsequent video game adaptations modified this detail to black underwear or spats. In the spin-off novel Purple Haze Feedback, it is mentioned that Trish pursued a career in music independently after the main story's events, successfully debuting as a singer without using any mafia influence.
