Overview
Sherry Polnareff is a character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. She is the younger sister of Jean Pierre Polnareff, whose tragic death three years prior to the events of the story sparks her brother's relentless quest for vengeance and leads him to join Jotaro Kujo's group.
Appearance
She has long wavy black hair with long bangs and blue eyes. Her outfit consists of a white bare-shoulder dress paired with elbow-length gloves, a hat, and feathered angel wings attached to her back.
Personality
She possessed a profound affection for her older brother, Jean Pierre Polnareff. Portrayed as an innocent and gentle young woman, her life was cut short by a cruel tragedy.
Background
Hailing from France, Sherry was walking home from school on a rainy day three years prior to the main story when she was attacked and murdered by J. Geil, a man possessing two right hands. A classmate who narrowly survived revealed the killer's distinct trait, prompting her brother Jean Pierre Polnareff to embark on a journey of revenge. Later, on a Red Sea island, the enemy Stand user Cameo used Judgement to create a clay duplicate of Sherry that violently attacked Polnareff. Although Muhammad Avdol destroyed the fake in the manga, the TV anime depicts Polnareff destroying the construct himself to come to terms with her passing.
Relationships
She shared a tight bond with her older brother, Jean Pierre Polnareff, whose devotion to her memory drives his struggle against DIO's mercenaries. J. Geil is her murderer and the primary object of her brother's vengeance. Additionally, when a clay clone of Sherry threatened Polnareff on a Red Sea island, Muhammad Avdol came to his aid.
Trivia
Her name is believed to derive from the song Tout Tout Pour Ma Cherie by French singer Michel Polnareff, who also inspired her brother's surname. In the TV anime, her voice actress Yuka Komatsu shares the same last name as Jean Pierre Polnareff's voice actor Fuminori Komatsu, though they are not related.
