Higashikata Joshu is a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 8: JoJolion. He is the 18-year-old second son of the prominent Higashikata family in Morioh and a first-year college student. Appearance
He features black hair styled in a bowl cut with shaved sides, along with dark green eyes. His attire consistently includes a bowtie, tops decorated with arrow motifs on both shoulders, and wrist bangles. In colored illustrations, his clothing is predominantly depicted in shades of green.
Personality
Short-tempered, arrogant, and greedy, Joshu often exhibits self-centered and childish behavior, such as constantly begging his father for money. He is intensely obsessed with his childhood friend, Hirose Yasuho, which drives his strong, jealous rivalry toward Higashikata Josuke. Despite his pettiness and perverted antics, he occasionally displays a willingness to protect his family and suffers from underlying self-doubt about his own talents.
Abilities
He commands the close-range Stand named Nut King Call, a humanoid entity covered in nuts and bolts with a V-shaped head piece. It can attach nuts and bolts to physical objects or human bodies. Removing a nut causes the target to disassemble seamlessly without causing pain or bleeding, and reattaching it restores the target. It can also fuse different objects together, though the effect dissipates if Joshu moves too far away.
Background
After encountering the buried protagonist at the Wall of Eyes, Joshu received a bite mark and developed a high fever, which awakened his Stand. He strongly resented his father, Norisuke IV, for taking Josuke into the Higashikata home and giving away his bedroom. Despite his repeated failed attempts to spite Josuke, he found himself dragged into various weird urban incidents in Morioh, including the Shakedown Road and Milagro Man encounters.
Relationships
He harbors a passionate, one-sided crush on his childhood friend, Hirose Yasuho, though she constantly avoids his overbearing advances. He holds a degree of fear and respect for his father, Higashikata Norisuke IV, and his older brother, Jobin. He initially despises Higashikata Josuke out of intense jealousy, though he eventually comes to treat him as part of the family after their shared trials.
Trivia
His Stand, Nut King Call, is named after the legendary American jazz pianist and singer Nat King Cole. In video games such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, he is voiced by Yoshirou Miura.
