Overview

Esidisi is a major antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency, created by Hirohiko Araki. He is one of the ancient Pillar Men and serves as a close comrade and equal to Kars in their quest for ultimate evolution.

Appearance

Esidisi is a tall, highly muscular figure standing around 185 to 200 centimeters with dark skin, silver hair, and light eyes. He features distinct facial markings and wears hoop earrings. He wears a headpiece that conceals a large single horn situated on his head. His attire consists of dark studded leather straps across his torso.

Personality

Though naturally hot-tempered and aggressive, Esidisi possesses a unique method of emotional control: when overwhelmed by fury, he bursts into loud, exaggerated weeping to rapidly regain composure. He is a cunning strategist who applies principles from Sun Tzu's The Art of War, using psychological tactics and deception in battle. Above all, he holds deep loyalty toward his allies, willing to abandon his own pride and life to ensure their shared goals.

Abilities

Esidisi utilizes the Flame Mode (Heat Control Mode), which allows him to heat his blood up to 500°C. Through the Erratic Blaze King technique, he extends modified, needle-like blood vessels from his body to pierce foes and inject boiling blood into them. He can also execute the Erratic Blaze King: Giant Cartwheel Prison by protruding dozens of blood vessels while performing a spinning attack. As a Pillar Man, he can graft human limbs onto his body, survive as a disembodied brain, possess other organisms, and self-destruct.

Background

Approximately 12,000 years ago, Esidisi became the sole adult member of his species to support Kars' plan, helping him wipe out their clan while sparing only the infants Wamuu and Santana. After battling Hamon warriors in ancient Rome, he entered a 2,000-year slumber. Upon awakening in the late 1930s, he implanted a poison ring into Joseph Joestar's neck. He later attacked Air Suplena Island, killed Loggins, and fought Joseph. Although his physical body was destroyed by Hamon, his surviving brain possessed Suzi Q to mail the Red Stone of Aja to Kars before being completely destroyed by sunlight.

Relationships

Esidisi shares a deep bond of equality and mutual respect with Kars, having fought alongside him for over ten thousand years. He acts as a senior figure toward Wamuu and Santana. In his battle against Joseph Joestar, both engaged in a desperate duel of wits; despite being enemies, Joseph ultimately respected Esidisi's complete dedication to his allies. Esidisi killed the Hamon master Loggins and commandeered his arm to replace his own severed limb. Later, he briefly possessed the body of Suzi Q to manipulate her.

Trivia

His name is derived from the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. He appeared as an enemy character in the 1989 Famicom game Famicom Jump: Eiyuu Retsuden, where he could be instantly defeated if targeted by Goku's Solar Flare technique due to his weakness to sunlight.
