Overview

Forever is a character featured in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. As an assassin dispatched by Enya the Hag on behalf of DIO, this intelligent orangutan holds the distinction of being the first animal Stand user introduced in the series.

Appearance

Forever is an orangutan characterized by brown fur and dark eyes. In featured artwork, he wears a large captain's hat.

Personality

Despite possessing exceptional intellect, Forever harbors a perverted streak, spending time gazing at pin-up magazines of human women and invading the space of the young girl Anne while she showers. He is immensely proud of his abilities yet easily short-tempered, readily losing his composure when taunted. When driven into a corner, he shamelessly exposes his belly in a desperate attempt to beg for mercy.

Abilities

Forever exhibits human-like dexterity and reasoning, demonstrating skills such as solving a Rubik's cube, peeling fruit with a knife, and smoking cigarettes. His Stand, Strength, is bound to a tiny boat, transforming it into a massive cargo ship that is visible even to non-Stand users due to its immense energy. He can manipulate every part of the vessel at will, phase through the ship's walls for free movement, or drag targets into the physical structure. In the OVA adaptation, he also shows the ability to reshape ship components into pipes and blades.

Background

Appearing before Joestar's group adrift in the South China Sea, Forever disguised himself as a harmless caged ape aboard a mysterious cargo ship. In secret, he escaped to slaughter the crew and restrain Joestar's party using his Stand's control over the vessel. However, after taking Jotaro Kujo's bait, he exposed himself to an attack where Star Platinum launched a uniform button into his forehead. Having broken the natural order through malice, his plea for surrender was rejected before he was thoroughly beaten.

Relationships

Forever serves DIO under the direction of Enya the Hag, acting as an enemy to Jotaro Kujo, Joseph Joestar, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean Pierre Polnareff, and Muhammad Avdol. He also targets the young traveling companion Anne out of lustful intent.

Trivia

His name is derived from the album Wu-Tang Forever by the American hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. His human-like behavior and lecherous antics were inspired by the 1986 horror film Link.
