Overview
Rikiel is a supporting antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean. As one of DIO's biological sons, he bears the signature Joestar star-shaped birthmark inherited via Jonathan Joestar's body. Once tormented by severe panic disorder and living without purpose, his encounter with Father Enrico Pucci awakened his Stand and gave him a profound commitment to personal spiritual growth. Embracing Pucci's cause to help reach "Heaven," he steps forward as a resolute adversary against Jolyne Cujoh and her companions.
Appearance
Rikiel wears a white jumpsuit featuring a prominent black cow-print pattern with an open chest region. He sports a distinctive headpiece covering his head, and his small, amphibian-like Stand manifests visually around his wrist.
Personality
Initially prone to severe anxiety and panic attacks that caused uncontrollable physical affliction, Rikiel undergoes a deep psychological transformation, adopting a philosophy that places ultimate value on the growth of the human spirit. Unlike his half-brothers, he refrains from cheap tricks or self-serving malice, fighting his opponents directly. Possessing incredible resolve—even willing to harm his own body to gain a tactical edge—he shows an honorable demeanor, gracefully acknowledging defeat and candidly conversing with his conquerors.
Abilities
Rikiel commands the Stand Sky High, which manifests on his wrist. While the Stand itself lacks raw physical power or speed, it allows him to control fast-flying cryptids known as Rods (or Skyfish) within his line of sight. These creatures sustain themselves by absorbing thermal energy from living targets. By directing them to drain body heat from specific anatomical locations, Rikiel can inflict localized medical conditions, organ failures, or instant death by targeting vital areas like the brainstem.
Background
Born to DIO and a mother who was consumed shortly after, Rikiel grew up without knowing his parents. His severe panic disorder began during a school exam, progressively ruining his daily life until a self-destructive driving accident landed him in the hospital. There, he met Father Enrico Pucci, who awakened his latent powers and helped him overcome his affliction. Tasked with stopping Jolyne's group, he brought down their helicopter and engaged them in a fierce battle. Though he pushed Jolyne to her limits, he was ultimately outmaneuvered, revealing key details about Weather Report before being rendered unable to fight by Ermes Costello.
Relationships
He is the biological son of DIO, sharing blood with Jonathan Joestar as well. Giorno Giovanna, Ungalo, and Donatello Versus are his paternal half-brothers. He holds deep gratitude toward Father Enrico Pucci for pulling him out of despair and giving his life purpose, fighting to help him reach "Heaven." After a brutal battle against Jolyne Cujoh, he accepts his defeat and discloses to her group the critical secret regarding the familial connection between Weather Report and Pucci.
Trivia
His name is derived from the French fashion designer and brand Sonia Rykiel. His passionate declaration during battle that his heart is "Apollo 11" encapsulates his core belief in human triumph through spiritual growth. The motorcycle he rides during his encounter with Jolyne's group is modeled after the real-world, highly rare Italian motorcycle Bimota HB2.
