Overview
Pesci is a Stand user belonging to the Hitman Team within the Passione gang in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind. Operating alongside his senior partner Prosciutto, he serves as the most junior member of the squad. Although initially depicted as an insecure and cowardly novice who has never killed anyone, he plays a major role during the ambush on Bruno Bucciarati's team aboard the express train bound for Florence, where he undergoes a dramatic awakening into a terrifying threat.
Appearance
Pesci features greenish-yellow hair shaped like the top of a pineapple or radish, along with a distinct facial structure with virtually no chin. He has blue eyes, green lips, and is left-handed. His attire consists of a suit complemented by jewelry, including a necklace featuring magatama beads.
Personality
Initially, Pesci is exceptionally timid and insecure, relying heavily on his senior, Prosciutto, while exhibiting a childish lack of resolve. Having never taken a human life, his demeanor is naive and hesitant. However, after witnessing Prosciutto's unwavering determination in battle, he undergoes a dramatic psychological shift. He acquires the cold calmness, intensity, and keen instincts of a seasoned assassin. Despite this growth, his final actions deteriorate into petty spite and personal frustration, attempting to inflict despair upon his enemy rather than fighting for a noble cause.
Abilities
Pesci commands the Stand Beach Boy, which takes the form of a fishing rod. Its line and hook can phase through solid obstacles like walls and floors to locate enemies and infiltrate their bodies, allowing him to attack targets internally. Once the hook attaches to a target's internal nerves, any damage or impact dealt to the line is reflected directly onto the target. Additionally, the Stand can drain an opponent's physical energy through the rod's elasticity and precisely detect the target's physical traits and exact hook location.
Background
After joining the Hitman Team within Passione, Pesci worked alongside Prosciutto. When Bruno Bucciarati's team betrayed the organization, Pesci and Prosciutto were tasked with intercepting them aboard an express train bound for Florence. During the battle, witnessing Prosciutto's utter dedication allowed Pesci to awaken his dormant potential as a lethal assassin. He engaged Bucciarati in a fierce duel outside the train. Although supported by a dying Prosciutto, Pesci was defeated when Bucciarati snapped his neck. In a final desperate act, he attempted to kill Giorno Giovanna and the others hiding inside the turtle Coco Jumbo out of spite, but was thwarted and torn apart by Bucciarati's attack, his remains falling into a river.
Relationships
Pesci holds deep reverence for his senior partner, Prosciutto, whom he addresses affectionately as his elder brother figure. While initially reliant on Prosciutto, Pesci inherits true conviction from his partner's tragic resolve, while Prosciutto consistently encourages Pesci's hidden talent. He engages in a duel with Bruno Bucciarati, whose initial victory is shaken by Pesci's sudden evolution; however, Pesci's final spiteful attack infuriates Bucciarati, leading to his demise. Within the Hitman Team, senior members like Formaggio treat him as a younger brother, occasionally teasing him while holding affection for him.
Trivia
His name, Pesci, translates to "fish" or fish dishes in Italian. His unique head shape and greenish hair frequently draw visual comparisons to pineapples or radishes. In Italian culinary etiquette, consuming milk after meals is considered bad manners due to being heavy on the stomach; however, Pesci prefers drinking milk because espresso upsets his stomach.
