Overview

A minor antagonist from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. Despite being an eleven-month-old infant, he possesses an adult-level intellect and a malicious nature. Acting as an assassin for DIO, he targets Jotaro Kujo and the Joestar group during their journey through Saudi Arabia.

Appearance

He has the physical appearance of an eleven-month-old baby. His most distinctive visual feature is a pair of fangs growing in his mouth.

Personality

Externally, he acts like a helpless baby unable to speak, but he is a natural genius with an adult-like intellect. Internally, he curses others and harbors a cruel, cunning personality, even secretly enjoying smoking cigarettes. He shows no hesitation in feigning illness or hypnotizing locals to manipulate those around him.

Abilities

He is the Stand user of Death Thirteen, representing the Death Tarot card. His Stand operates inside dreams, pulling sleeping victims into a nightmare world where only its scythe can deal lethal damage. Unless a Stand was summoned prior to falling asleep, targets cannot manifest their Stands within the dream and cannot wake themselves up. Victims also lose their memory of the dream upon waking. In addition, he possesses physical dexterity, such as killing a scorpion with a safety pin, as well as hypnosis abilities.

Background

In Saudi Arabia, he used hypnosis on a local woman to have her pick him up, feigning illness to gain passage on the Joestar group's Cessna plane. He attempted to eliminate the group inside their dreams on the plane and at a desert camp. Noriaki Kakyoin deduced his true nature, though the rest of the group dismissed Kakyoin's concerns. However, Kakyoin brought Hierophant Green into the dream world, hijacked Death Thirteen, and defeated him. He was spared death, but Kakyoin secretly mixed his feces into his baby food, retiring him from the battle.

Relationships

He works as an assassin under DIO to eliminate the Joestar group. Noriaki Kakyoin is his primary opponent, being the only one to figure out his identity and defeat him in the dream world. Jotaro Kujo, Joseph Joestar, and Jean Pierre Polnareff fail to realize he is an enemy Stand user, attributing Kakyoin's warnings to exhaustion, and unknowingly feed him the tainted baby food following his defeat.

Trivia

His name comes from Muddy Waters' 1955 song "Mannish Boy". He was voiced by Miki Nagasawa in the game adaptation and by Ikue Otani in the TV anime. In the Super Famicom game, his encounter with the Joestar group takes place on a jumbo jet bound for India rather than a Cessna in Saudi Arabia.
