Overview
Higashikata Jobin is a prominent character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 8: JoJolion. As the 32-year-old eldest son of the Higashikata family, he works as an international businessman while harboring big ambitions for the family enterprise. Fiercely devoted to his wife Higashikata Mitsuba and son Higashikata Tsurugi, Jobin is driven by a ruthless desire to protect his loved ones and elevate his family's status. Guided by a belief in absolute strength, he becomes a pivotal figure in the conflict surrounding the mysterious Rokakaka fruit to cure his family's generational curse.
Appearance
Jobin is characterized by his slicked-back green or blonde hair styled with hairclips and marked by small bump-like motifs reminiscent of the Rokakaka fruit, which also feature on his clothing. He has blue eyes, blue lipstick, and lacks eyebrows altogether. A distinct vertical scar runs down his face from his brow to his cheek. His wardrobe includes a hooded garment with a sharp, spiky design aesthetic.
Personality
Despite being a calculating businessman, Jobin retains a surprisingly childish fascination with stag beetles, which his son describes as treating every day like summer vacation. He has a habit of reciting lines inspired by the poet Mitsuo Aida. Beneath his family-oriented exterior lies a ruthless philosophy: he views concepts like good, evil, legality, and luck as human illusions, believing strictly in absolute strength and weakness. Consequently, he has no hesitation in eliminating obstacles to ensure his family's supremacy.
Abilities
Jobin commands the Stand known as Speed King. Its primary ability allows it to rapidly elevate the temperature of any surface or object its fingers touch. Although its natural effective range is limited to roughly 10 centimeters, Jobin can store heat within objects. When a target makes physical contact with a heat-stored item, the thermal energy is released all at once to execute a localized long-range strike. The Stand lets out a unique war cry during rapid attack rushes.
Background
During his childhood, Jobin suffered from the Higashikata family's hereditary illness and faced severe bullying. When pushed to the brink, his Stand awakened; his mother, Higashikata Kato, orchestrated a deadly secret exchange that cured his disease at the cost of another's life. As an adult driving a golden Lamborghini Gallardo, Jobin grew frustrated with his father Higashikata Norisuke IV's conservative business methods. Seeking a permanent cure for his son Tsurugi, he covertly partnered with Rock Human smugglers and plotted to secure the new Rokakaka branch.
Relationships
Jobin is the son of Higashikata Norisuke IV and Higashikata Kato, and the older brother of Higashikata Hato, Higashikata Joshu, and Higashikata Daiya. He is devoted to his wife Higashikata Mitsuba and son Higashikata Tsurugi. He views Higashikata Josuke with deep suspicion, leading to a high-stakes stag beetle battle between them. To achieve his aims, he formed covert alliances with Rock Humans including Yagiyama Yotsuyu, Damo Tamaki, Dolomite, and Poor Tom.
Trivia
Jobin drives a golden Lamborghini Gallardo. An obsessive insect collector, his personal room is lined with numerous mounted specimens, and he frequently purchases expensive stag beetles during his business trips abroad.
