Secco

Overview

Secco is a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Vento Aureo. He is a Stand user belonging to the personal guard of Passione's boss. A former patient of Cioccolata, he operates alongside him as an assassin sent to eliminate targets threatening the boss's identity. Although he initially appears to be a loyal, animal-like pet to Cioccolata, he is secretly a calculating and opportunistic individual.

Appearance

Secco has blue hair along with eyes described as blue or purple. His visual presentation is defined by his Stand, Oasis, which manifests as a full-body outfit. He frequently assumes a feral, quadrupedal stance, resting on all fours. His height is approximately 170 centimeters.

Personality

Secco presents himself as a docile, stuttering follower who acts like a pet to Cioccolata, performing tricks like catching sugar cubes with his mouth. In truth, this demeanour is a facade. He is ruthless, cunning, and completely self-serving, following Cioccolata only as long as it benefits him. When Cioccolata loses, Secco immediately shows his true colors and ridicules him. Despite his sharp instincts, he lacks true resolve and turns desperate when backed into a corner.

Abilities

Secco wields the wearable Stand Oasis, which grants him the ability to liquefy solid matter and the ground. This allows him to dive into and navigate beneath the earth. He can spit liquefied stones that solidify mid-air as projectiles and execute swift, powerful melee strikes using the mud's recoil. While underground, he relies on extraordinarily sharp hearing as a sonar system to pinpoint targets. His powers synergize devastatingly with Cioccolata's Green Day.

Background

Originally a patient under Cioccolata's care, Secco became his partner within Passione. The duo was dispatched by the boss to eliminate Bruno Bucciarati's team in Rome. After learning of Cioccolata's defeat, Secco attempted to claim the secret located at the Colosseum for himself to overthrow the boss. During his battle with Bucciarati, a car tire's explosion destroyed his eardrums, neutralizing his reliance on sound. Attempting a desperate escape using a hostage, he was outsmarted, causing him to liquefy his own throat and tumble into a garbage truck.

Relationships

Secco maintains a bizarre partnership with Cioccolata, acting as a submissive companion until Cioccolata falls in combat, at which point Secco completely disowns him. He engages in a fierce battle against Bruno Bucciarati near the Colosseum. During his final attempt to flee, he unknowingly takes Doppio hostage, unaware of the boy's true connection to the organization's boss.

Trivia

His name, Secco, is derived from the Italian word for 'dry' or 'harsh'. His Stand is named after the British rock band Oasis. This creates an intentional real-world contrast, as Oasis and Green Day—the namesake for his partner Cioccolata's Stand—are famously known for their mutual animosity.
