Overview

Albedo is a character from the open-world RPG Genshin Impact, residing in the nation of Mondstadt. Known by the title Kreideprinz (Prince of Chalk), he serves as the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team for the Knights of Favonius. Uninterested in wealth or status, this young genius dedicates himself to researching ultimate truth and ancient knowledge, operating primarily out of a research camp in the frigid region of Dragonspine.

Appearance

Albedo is a handsome young man with light blonde, medium-length hair and blue eyes. He bears a star-shaped mark on his throat. His attire consists of a blue collared shirt worn under a white hooded coat, paired with black shorts, long black elbow gloves, and black thigh-high boots. His Geo Vision is displayed near his collar.

Personality

Albedo possesses a calm, refined, and polite demeanor. While he tends to keep a mild distance from others and avoids crowded festivities or unnecessary socializing, he is genuinely kind and helpful. He enjoys sketching, painting portraits, and eating sweets to recharge his focus, though he dislikes excessive portions of meat when dining out.

Abilities

Albedo wields a sword and commands the Geo element. His Elemental Skill creates a Solar Isotoma that generates Transient Blossoms to deal Geo area damage scaling with his Defense whenever enemies take damage within its field. Standing on the Solar Isotoma also creates a platform that elevates characters. His Elemental Burst releases Geo area damage and boosts the Elemental Mastery of nearby party members. Additionally, he has a passive talent that provides a chance to double the yield when crafting weapon ascension materials.

Background

Albedo is a synthetic human (homunculus) created through alchemy by the legendary Khaenri'ah scholar Rhinedottir, making him a creation of the same origin as the dragon Durin. Carrying a letter of recommendation from his master, he arrived in Mondstadt and joined the Knights of Favonius. Aware of his unique artificial nature, he continues his scientific inquiries and field research amid the snows of Dragonspine.

Relationships

Albedo regards his creator Rhinedottir as his mother. At the request of her friend Alice, he acts as a caring older brother figure to Klee. Within the Knights of Favonius, Jean serves as his superior, while Sucrose and Timaeus act as his research assistants. He also collaborates with the Liyue author Xingqiu, providing illustrations for his light novels under the pen name Calx.

Trivia

Because his Elemental Skill summons a crystalline platform that lifts characters into the air, players frequently nickname his creation an elevator.
