Katheryne features short black hair cut in a bob style with blunt bangs and blue eyes. She wears a maid-inspired white and green dress with long sleeves and exposed shoulders, complemented by a hair bow and maid headdress. A keyhole-like slot or marking is located on the back of her neck.
Personality
Katheryne acts as a polite, patient, and welcoming host for the Adventurers' Guild. She maintains a composed demeanor when interacting with eccentric personalities. Due to her synthetic nature, she occasionally lapses into flat, mechanical speech when encountering functional glitches.
Abilities
As a bionic puppet, Katheryne shares memory and consciousness across her various units deployed in different regions. Her synthetic body can also serve as a physical vessel for mental takeover via network terminals like the Akasha. She is also capable of utilizing waypoint transport to move between posts.
Background
Manufactured in Snezhnaya as biological automatons, Katheryne units were stationed at Adventurers' Guild branches across Teyvat. She assists the Traveler throughout their journey in Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, and beyond. During events in Sumeru, one unit was temporarily inhabited by Nahida and destroyed during a battle, after which a replacement puppet took over receptionist duties.
Relationships
Katheryne serves as a key contact and guide for the Traveler and Paimon on their journey. She assists various local adventurers, including Fischl. The Lesser Lord Kusanali (Nahida) uses Katheryne's body as a vessel to communicate with the outside world. She is also linked to the Fatui Harbinger Sandrone (Marionette), who is identified as her creator or original model.
Trivia
If left idle for a period, Katheryne randomly utters robotic system messages such as 'Error' or 'Rebooting'. Because players frequently skip her dialogue while claiming daily rewards, her greeting is famously cut short in community jokes. Her concept of identical receptionists in every town is often compared to Nurse Joy from the Pokémon franchise.
