Direidyth

Overview

Direidyth is a quest-exclusive non-player character appearing in Genshin Impact during Archon Quest Chapter V: Act VI, "A Space and Time for You." She is a young girl from Khaenri'ah who lived five hundred years ago during the cataclysm, searching for a prophesied savior to rescue her people from destruction.

Appearance

She has brown hair styled with braids and a low ponytail, featuring strands falling between her eyes and decorated with a flower hair ornament. She has purple eyes. Her outfit consists of a dress with puffy long sleeves, paired with fingerless gloves.

Personality

Direidyth is defined by her deep faith in the promised salvation of her people and her resilient outlook. She holds the belief that uncertainty about what the future brings is precisely what grants someone the strength to keep striving. Even in the face of disaster, she remains hopeful, earnest, and brave.

Background

Raised five centuries ago amidst the looming cataclysm of Khaenri'ah, Direidyth grew up listening to her grandmother's accounts of a savior destined to end the suffering of her people. Encouraged by her grandmother after repeatedly dreaming of a savior whose gender contradicted the original prophecy, she left her village and journeyed to Natlan. Ultimately, she succumbed to the curse of Khaenri'ah and transformed into a Hilichurl dwelling in a cave. Five hundred years later, when the Abyss Order activated the Loom of Fate, overlapping the past and present spacetimes of Natlan, the Traveler encountered both her present Hilichurl form and her historical human self fleeing Abyssal monsters.

Relationships

Her grandmother passed down the legend of the savior to her and prompted her journey away from their home. The Traveler, whom she encounters due to the temporal overlap caused by the Loom of Fate, mirrors the figure of the savior she envisioned in her dreams.
