Overview

Ororon is a playable Electro bow character from the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe in Natlan, featured in Genshin Impact. Recognized by his striking heterochromia and bat-like ears, he is a tall young man who leads a quiet, self-sufficient lifestyle outside the main tribal village. Born with a fragmented soul, he possesses a unique perception of the world and a profound connection to the spiritual realm. Despite his dark appearance, he plays a key role in protecting Natlan from imminent crisis.

Appearance

Ororon is a tall young man featuring bat-like beast ears, dark blue hair with M-shaped bangs, and noticeable dark circles under his eyes. He has heterochromia, possessing a blue left eye and a pink right eye. His attire consists of a sleeveless top paired with a blue scarf and a hooded cape, behind which his Electro Vision is attached. He wears black fingerless gloves and mid-calf boots, with distinct body paint markings visible on his skin.

Personality

Despite his intimidating and dark exterior, Ororon has a surprisingly pure, eccentric, and child-like personality. He follows his own distinct logic and can be unyieldingly stubborn once his mind is set. Deeply devoted to farming, he converses with his crops, assigns them names, and frequently uses vegetable metaphors to express human relationships and personal growth. He possesses a powerful intuition for perceiving the true nature of human souls, though his naive willingness to resolve problems often leads to reckless choices, causing him to retreat into silence or flee using illusions when confronted.

Abilities

Ororon utilizes a bow infused with Electro energy and Night Soul mechanics. His aimed shots grant a perception state that allows interaction with ancient graffiti. His Elemental Skill throws a bouncing sphere dealing Night Soul Electro damage to up to three targets while aiding party energy restoration. His Elemental Explosion summons an indestructible sonic decoy that taunts enemies and deals continuous Electro area damage. Through his passive talent, he unleashes off-field Electro follow-up attacks whenever party members trigger Electro-Charged reactions or deal Hydro, Electro, or Night Soul damage. Additionally, he boosts party gliding speed and executes high jumps.

Background

Born into Natlan's Masters of the Night-Wind tribe with a fragmented soul, Ororon was abandoned as an infant before being taken in by the villagers. A tribal ritual intended to sacrifice him to reinforce the ley lines failed, allowing him to survive and grow up under the guidance of elders like Citlali. Plagued by feelings of unworthiness, he initially cooperated with The Captain of the Fatui to reconstruct the ley lines. However, through his internal struggles, he reclaimed his resolve, awakened his Ancient Name Bidii, and joined Mavuika and Natlan's heroes to defeat the Abyss.

Relationships

Citlali acts as Ororon's primary guardian and grandmother figure; while he respects her deeply, his independent actions constantly earn her scoldings. He temporarily allied with The Captain of the Fatui, sensing the Harbinger's somber but honorable soul, though he eventually chose Natlan's cause. Recognizing the Traveler's pure and ancient soul, he affectionately addresses them as a grandparent figure. He is close friends with the doctor Ifa, who accepts his strange habits, and he ultimately aligns with the Archon Mavuika to defend their homeland.

Trivia

Ororon's name is derived from the supreme deity in Yoruba mythology, while his Ancient Name "Bidii" comes from the Swahili word for diligence or effort. His favorite food is Tatacos, taking pleasure in catching falling toppings with the flatbread, though he dislikes hard military field rations. During a story event, he became overly immersed in Fontaine action films, which led to a comical moment where he attempted to storm Chief Justice Neuvillette's office while shouting law enforcement slogans.
