Dahlia appears as a young boy with short pink hair featuring M-shaped bangs and blue-purple eyes with distinctive diamond-shaped pupils. He wears a beret on his head, accompanied by an outfit consisting of long sleeves, shorts, gloves, and long boots.

Dahlia possesses a lighthearted and inquisitive personality, driven by a genuine curiosity for worldly troubles rather than a stern sense of religious obligation. He frequently wanders through Mondstadt seeking out disputes to resolve, often employing unconventional tactics such as bringing feuding parties to a tavern to turn them into drinking companions over alcohol. He is a heavy drinker who respects social boundaries, knowing exactly when to maintain tact. Additionally, Dahlia views meals as a source of enjoyment rather than mere sustenance, holding a distinct fondness for extremely spicy flavors.

Abilities

Dahlia fights using a sword and Hydro elemental magic. His normal attack executes up to four consecutive strikes, while his charged attack swings twice forward. His Elemental Skill, Sacred Baptistery, summons a Hydro mechanism called Mistrain Secret that launches allies into the air upon contact or explodes to deal Hydro area damage when touched by enemies. His Elemental Burst, Pure Praise, deals Hydro area damage, deploys a Holy Favor Shield scaling with his maximum HP, and grants the team the Favonius Blessing. Under this effect, normal attacks and Frozen reactions grant stacks of Benediction to re-deploy broken shields, while active characters gain increased attack speed based on his maximum HP. He also increases party movement speed during the day.

Serving as a deacon at the Church of Favonius in Mondstadt, Dahlia also leads the cathedral's choir. Known for his uncanny ability to receive direct answers from the Anemo Archon during morning prayers, he often acts as an intermediary for troubled citizens seeking divine counsel. During a church tribunal, he presided as the official representative in the trial concerning Albedo. Recognizing Venti's true identity as Barbatos, he arranged a meeting with the Traveler at Starsnatch Cliff through Rosaria, asking for assistance to uncover evidence proving Albedo's innocence. He later played a crucial role in managing defense operations and resource allocation during an Abyss invasion of Mondstadt.

Relationships

Dahlia maintains a unique bond with Venti, fully aware of his identity as the Anemo Archon Barbatos, with the two sharing a mutually supportive friendship. His relationship with Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, is marked by contrasting approaches to conflict resolution, as Jean is frequently bewildered by his unconventional tavern tactics. Within the Church of Favonius, he collaborates with Rosaria, who respects his drinking etiquette and acts as a trusted intermediary, while viewing Barbara's public popularity as an effective form of church outreach. He is also acquainted with Kaeya, whom he once defeated in a drinking contest.

Dahlia's name is derived from the dahlia flower. His existence and role as a deacon of the Church of Favonius were first referenced in official materials released alongside Rosaria's announcement back in Version 1.4. Prior to Version 5.3, his silhouette was featured second from the left in an official teaser highlighting seven upcoming playable characters, making him the final character from that group to be formally announced. His signature dish is a shrimp potato canapé named Nighttime Chat. He harbors a whimsical wish to turn into a dandelion seed after death to soar through the sky with the wind.
