Sigewinne

Overview

Sigewinne is a character from Genshin Impact, serving as the Melusine Head Nurse of the infirmary within the Fortress of Meropide, an underwater prison in the Fontaine region. Operating as a Hydro bow wielder, she initially entered the fortress as an inmate due to a past legal transgression. However, her selfless medical care for the incarcerated population earned her high respect, leading her to remain as the primary medical officer even after completing her sentence. Distinct from other Melusines by her markedly human-like appearance, Sigewinne provides impartial, compassionate care to all patients while maintaining firm authority over the prison's medical facility.

Appearance

Sigewinne has blue hair styled into low twintails secured with fluffy white pom-pom hair accessories, topped with a cowlick, a nurse cap, and characteristic Melusine antennae and wings. She features thick eyebrows, red eyes, a tail, and a youthful, child-like human silhouette distinct from other Melusines. Her outfit consists of an aqua nurse dress paired with a white apron, accented by red bows, white gloves, white tights, and short boots. In battle and medical duties, she carries a multi-functional bubble gun and a giant syringe.

Personality

Sigewinne is gentle, empathetic, and guided by a strong sense of medical ethics, offering care to injured prisoners without judging their crimes. While humbled when praised as an Angel of Redemption, she firmly insists that patients fulfill their legal sentences upon recovery. She delights in observing human behavior and earning trust. Beneath her sweet demeanor, however, lies a shrewd and pragmatically tough side; she will unhesitatingly use tranquilizer darts on intruders or employ theatrical tricks to enforce compliance. Her unique Melusine palate also leads her to serve highly nutritious yet visually unappetizing dishes.

Abilities

Sigewinne is a Hydro bow user aligned with the Ousia alignment. Her normal attacks shoot arrows or hurl medicine capsules, while her charged shots release Compassion Bubbles. Her Elemental Skill, Bouncing Hydrotherapy, fires Healing Bubbles from her bubble gun that bounce between targets, dealing Hydro damage and healing all party members. Charging the skill enlarges the bubbles, increasing damage, healing, and allowing small enemies to be trapped inside. Her passive talents enhance healing and boost off-field teammates' skill damage based on her maximum HP and total Bond of Life. Her Elemental Burst, Super-saturated Heartfelt Injection, fires continuous Hydro AoE shockwaves using a giant syringe while absorbing nearby Sourcewater Droplets. She also utilizes built-in tranquilizer darts to neutralize targets.

Background

During an era when Melusines faced widespread prejudice, Sigewinne became fascinated by human medicine and studied under a sympathetic doctor. When a mystery illness hit Fontaine, her master conducted self-experiments to develop a cure, leaving behind a transformation formula before vanishing. To save a critically ill human friend, Sigewinne ingested the potion, gaining a human-like form. Having violated Fontaine's prohibition against species transformation, she turned herself in and was imprisoned in the Fortress of Meropide. There, she earned widespread admiration by treating inmates, earning sentence reductions, and ultimately deciding to remain permanently as the head nurse.

Relationships

Sigewinne shares a close professional dynamic with Duke Wriothesley of the Fortress of Meropide, who nevertheless politely declines her experimental beverages. She holds Chief Justice Neuvillette in high esteem, regularly sending him gifts. Years prior, she helped a toddler-aged Emilie take her first walking steps. She establishes a friendly rapport with the Traveler and Paimon, involving them in medical ruses to treat obstinate patients. When Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet investigated prison secrets, she neutralized them with tranquilizers without malice, subsequently providing medical treatment and hospitality. During Furina's trial, she conducted the medical check for Primordial Seawater exposure.

Trivia

Sigewinne is a recognized beauty consultant who writes the skincare column Huan Yan Yi Xin for The Steambird and conducts cosmetics seminars in the Vasari Passage. Her signature dish, Nutritious Balanced Meal, adapts the Bubble Soufflé recipe accompanied by an oddly colored milkshake. Within the Fortress of Meropide, an unwritten rule dictates that working three consecutive days results in receiving Sigewinne's special welfare meal of strange purple meat, effectively acting as an informal deterrent against overwork.
