Overview

Chiori is a character from Genshin Impact, originating from Inazuma and currently residing in the Court of Fontaine. Known as the "Thundering Seamstress," she is the visionary fashion designer and owner of Chioriya Boutique, a celebrated clothing store that leads the nation's fashion trends. Fiercely independent and uncompromising, she upholds her own artistic principles without bowing to authority or flatteries. Her exceptional tailoring skills have earned her a premier reputation in Fontaine, where she designs outfits for various prominent individuals.

Appearance

Chiori has dark brown hair with gold streaks, styled into a high curly ponytail and a flower-shaped bun secured with hair ornaments, including traditional Japanese thread scissors. She has sharp, red slant eyes. Her attire consists of a kimono-inspired black and gold dress over a grey sleeveless top, held by a red sash (obi) with a large knot. Her Inazuma-style Geo Vision is positioned on her sash like an obidome ornament. She wears dark elbow-length gloves, black stockings, and black footwear with red straps inspired by wooden geta heels.

Personality

Chiori possesses a strong-willed, pragmatic artisan spirit. Blunt and straight-talking, she despises corporate pleasantries and authority, holding an equal disdain for anyone who disrespects her craft or boutique. Rude intruders are forcefully thrown out without hesitation. Beneath her sharp, severe exterior lies a fiercely loyal friend who goes above and beyond for those who show genuine respect. Driven by her core philosophy of never bowing down, she defends her creative vision with unshakeable resolve.

Abilities

Chiori utilizes a Geo Vision and fights with a dynamic dual-wielding sword technique. Her Elemental Skill, Hasode: An Epitome of Fabric, allows her to dash forward to strike enemies while summoning her automated doll helper, Tamoto, which periodically deals AoE Geo Damage based on her Attack and Defense. If nearby Geo constructs exist, an additional Tamoto doll is summoned. Her Elemental Burst, Hiyoku: Twin Blades, delivers an area-of-effect Geo strike amidst swirling bolts of fabric.

Background

Raised in Inazuma, Chiori showed immense focus for needlework despite her rebellious nature. However, her refusal to strictly follow traditional attire styles caused friction with various local tailoring masters. To pursue her vision of fashion without restraint, she migrated to Fontaine before the Vision Hunt Decree took effect, aided by the Kamisato Clan. Overcoming initial hostility against outsiders and intense competition in the fashion industry, she built her boutique, Chioriya, into a renowned brand across the nation.

Relationships

Chiori maintains longstanding ties with the Kamisato Clan, including Kamisato Ayato and Kamisato Ayaka, who helped her depart Inazuma. She has crafted tailored outfits for many prominent figures, including Kirara, Navia, Lyney, Lynette, and Charlotte's camera ornament. She enjoys a close partnership with Special Security and Surveillance Patrol captain Chevreuse, often exchanging information gathered from chatty patrons at her shop. She harbored strong hostility toward her former associate User, who attempted to sabotage her business through lowhanded schemes.

Trivia

Her signature hair accessory features motifs resembling Akebi flowers. Although she finds the constant talking of showcase-seeking customers annoying and distracting to her creative work, her boutique naturally functions as a hub of gathering intelligence. In her personal taste, she loves the intricate process of crafting traditional Inazuman sweets, but deeply dislikes overly rich or heavy dishes like haggis.
