Keqing

Overview

Keqing is a playable character in the open-world RPG Genshin Impact. As the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, she governs land, management, and construction matters in Liyue. Positioned as a pragmatic reformer who values human independence over reliance on divine authority, she takes a proactive hands-on approach to leadership. In combat, she wields a sword paired with an Electro Vision to execute swift, high-mobility strikes.

Appearance

She has long purple twintails with purple eyes featuring diamond-shaped pupils, side-swept bangs, and upper hair styled into pointy cone-like buns. Her ears are adorned with earrings. Her standard outfit is a bare-shoulder dress in purple tones featuring detached sleeves, gloves, a ruffled skirt, dark tights, and high heels. During the Lantern Rite festival, she wears a formal outfit styled in dark blue and black with bird motifs.

Personality

She possesses a straightforward, diligent, and serious disposition, despising inefficiency and laziness above all. A relentless perfectionist and action-oriented workaholic, she routinely completes massive workloads in a fraction of the standard time and frequently conducts field investigations personally. Though initially critical of relying on divine decree, her commitment stems from a belief in human self-reliance. After directly experiencing the weights of governance, she develops a profound respect for Rex Lapis.

Abilities

Keqing is a swift swordmaster capable of delivering rapid normal attacks and high-frequency charged attacks. Her Elemental Skill allows her to hurl a Lightning Stiletto and immediately teleport to its location to strike with Electro area damage, temporarily infusing her normal attacks with Electro. Alternatively, detonating the stiletto with a charged attack deals localized Electro damage. Her Elemental Burst executes a lightning-fast ten-hit barrage around her with a generous period of invulnerability. She also possesses a utility passive that reduces dispatch time on Liyue expeditions.

Background

Born into a prominent family in Liyue with a grandfather who studied traditional culture, Keqing rose to become the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing. Driven by her vision of a future led by human hands, she rigorously surveyed the geography of Liyue. When events reshaped the city's relationship with its deity, she actively coordinated defenses against ancient threats alongside mortals and Adepti alike. She continues to lead civil planning, urban defense, and festival logistics across Liyue.

Relationships

She works alongside her fellow Liyue Qixing members, Ningguang and Tianshu, to govern Liyue. She maintains respectful professional and personal ties with Ganyu and Beidou. She is particularly fond of Xiangling's Golden Shrimp Balls and often assists her with culinary discoveries. Keqing shares a deep bond of trust with the Traveler, frequently seeking their assistance. Though originally questioning the reign of Rex Lapis (Zhongli), she later develops immense respect for his centuries of guidance.

Trivia

Her favorite food is Golden Shrimp Balls, and her specialty dish is Survival Grilled Fish. Initially unhappy about receiving an Electro Vision—viewing it as an unwanted divine concession—she attempted to destroy it through various extreme means before ultimately choosing to keep and utilize it. She holds the distinction of being one of the few standard five-star pool characters to have had a dedicated temporary event wish banner.
