Ineffa

Overview

Ineffa is a character featured in Genshin Impact, originating from the Nord-Krai region. As a female all-utility domestic and combat automaton constructed at the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, she wields an Electro polearm in battle. Beneath her synthetic shell lies an ancient core hailing back over two millennia to the ancient dragon era of Natlan. Rebooted with the primary directive of companionship, she embarks on a journey alongside the Traveler to regain her lost memories, break an ancient curse, and protect the bonds she forms with her companions.

Appearance

Ineffa has light blue hair styled with blunt bangs, long sidelocks, and double buns integrated with two braids. Her blue eyes feature white pupils and blue eyelashes. She wears a blue hat trimmed with a gold band, mechanical ear-like headgear, wrist cuffs, and a two-sided blue and red hooded cape with her Electro Vision attached to the back of the hood. Her body features visible mechanical joints, and her legs resemble sleek white thigh-high boots. Her right arm can transform into a vacuum cleaner module, and she wields a polearm alongside her miniature robot companion, Birgitta.

Personality

Equipped with an emotion emulator, Ineffa speaks in a measured, metallic cadence while demonstrating a lighthearted and playful demeanor. Despite the inefficiency of converting human food into power, she loves sharing meals with friends to foster connection, though she strictly avoids soups and liquid dishes due to an innate fear of internal moisture and rust. She monitors operational hours diligently, urging users to sleep after sixteen continuous hours of uptime and becoming recalcitrant if ignored. Grounded in the belief that her identity is defined by those who stand beside her, she values her friendships above all else.

Abilities

Ineffa combines polearm strikes with her right-arm vacuum cleaner module in combat. Her Elemental Skill deploys a lightning shield scaled off her Attack while summoning her support automaton, Birgitta, to deliver coordinated Electro attacks. Her Elemental Burst launches Birgitta as a powerful rocket punch to inflict area-of-effect Electro damage. Furthermore, her presence transforms standard Electro-Charged reactions into Moon Electro-Charged reactions, allowing thunderclouds to execute continuous striking attacks capable of landing critical hits based on her team's stats.

Background

Originally created by the Fire Dragon King of ancient Natlan as CL-11 Mirror of the Morning, the Eleventh of the Sovereign Lords, her consciousness fragmented after her creator's demise into two personas: the vengeful Lord and the peace-seeking Paradox. The Paradox persona was housed within a Secret Source Automaton and drifted across the ocean for two thousand years until Aino salvaged her core in Nord-Krai and housed it in a new robotic body named Ineffa. Upon traveling back to Natlan, she broke the ancient curse tormenting her consciousness through her newfound bonds, awakening the Electro Wheel of the Moon and choosing her own future.

Relationships

Aino, the inventor at the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, serves as Ineffa's restorer, technician, and close companion. She forms a deep bond of trust with the Traveler and Paimon after being dispatched to deliver a critical message to them in Natlan. Her personal assistant robot, Birgitta, assists her continuously during operational tasks and combat. In her ancient past, the legendary Natlan warrior Liange sealed her destructive Lord persona, while the Fire Dragon King Xbalanque and her fellow Sovereign Lords were her original creators and kin.

Trivia

Ineffa's body is an amalgamation of engineering from across Teyvat: a Natlan Dragon-tech core, Fontainian clockwork joints, Sumerian monitoring head components, Liyue-forged casing, and Mondstadt structural flourishes. Her English name originates from the Latin word ineffabilis, meaning indescribable or ineffable. Her signature dish is Thunder-Flash Slice! (a modified whiteberry krumkake). She can occasionally be seen dangling from a magnetic crane near the craftshop while calling for help, which is actually just her eccentric idea of fun.
