Overview
Bennett is a character in the open-world RPG Genshin Impact, hailing from the region of Mondstadt where he works as a young member of the Adventurers' Guild. As the leader and sole active member of "Benny's Adventure Team," this Pyro sword wielder faces a continuous streak of extreme misfortune. Despite his severe bad luck causing former teammates to depart, he maintains an unwaveringly optimistic spirit and continues his journeys with unmatched resilience.
Appearance
Bennett is a young man with short white or grey hair featuring an M-shaped fringe, paired with bright green eyes. He wears goggles resting on his head and carries a visible adhesive bandage across the bridge of his nose. His attire includes a sleeveless, collared top, brown gloves, a yellow arm ribbon, blue shorts, white socks, and boots, accented by a waist belt holding a pouch. His body shows visible scars from his numerous misadventures.
Personality
Bennett possesses an exceptionally bright, warmhearted, and earnest personality. Undeterred by constant bad luck, he approaches every setback as a stepping stone to becoming a great adventurer. While his persistent bad luck can occasionally lead to moments of self-deprecation, he places immense value on his bonds with others and acts with selflessness. Living through continuous mishaps has given him an exceptionally high tolerance for pain and remarkable skill in treating his own injuries.
Abilities
In battle, Bennett wields a sword infused with Pyro power. His Elemental Skill, Passion Overload, deals Pyro damage, with charged versions offering extra hits that can knock back both enemies and himself; however, he takes no damage from his own explosion, and the self-knockback can be prevented under shields. His Elemental Burst, Fantastic Voyage, creates an inspirational field on the ground that continuously heals active party members when their health is low and grants a massive attack buff based on his base attack strength. At max constellation level, the field also infuses melee weapon attacks with Pyro and boosts Pyro damage.
Background
As an infant, Bennett was discovered by an elderly adventurer in a perilous, abandoned domain and brought to Mondstadt. Raised by a collective of retired male adventurers whom he affectionately calls his "dads," he spent his youth caring for them in return. He later established "Benny's Adventure Team," though his terrible luck caused every member to leave. Out of compassion, the guild receptionist Katheryne kept the team registered on the official roster. It was later revealed that he actually originates from Natlan, and his separation from its ley lines contributed to his unusual luck.
Relationships
Bennett maintains strong friendships within Mondstadt. He is close friends with Fischl, whose familiar Oz admires Bennett's physical toughness. He formed a strong bond with Razor after getting trapped together in an ancient ruin trap, later helping him gather ingredients. Klee deeply sympathizes with him for not knowing his birth parents and affectionately offers to share her mother Alice with him. Katheryne, the Adventurers' Guild receptionist, thoughtfully keeps his team registered while discreetly shielding him from the reality that all his former teammates have officially resigned.
Trivia
The name Bennett is derived from the Latin name Benedict, which translates to "blessed one." His official birthday is February 29th, meaning his birth date only occurs once every four years on leap years, adding another layer to his comedic misfortune. Due to his extraordinarily high buffing and healing efficiency relative to his rarity, players frequently joke that he functions like a hidden "6-star character."
