Overview
Lohen is a five-star Cryo polearm character from Mondstadt in Genshin Impact. He serves as the Vice-Captain of the Knights of Favonius' 5th Squad, which operates as a ranged unit. Despite his position, he accompanied Grand Master Varka on his expedition all the way to Nod-Krai. He is recognized for his unconventional battlefield tactics, often ignoring standard ranged positions to charge straight into melee combat in pursuit of maximum combat efficiency.
Appearance
Visually, he has the appearance of a young boy who still retains a sense of youthfulness.
Personality
Despite his youthful appearance, Lohen speaks in a rough, blunt manner that strays from typical knightly decorum. He possesses an insatiable thrill for combat and actively seeks out harsh battles, spending even his off-time hunting monsters. Driven by pragmatism and efficiency, he is completely willing to set aside his title or chivalrous pride to secure victory through whatever tactics work best.
Abilities
Lohen fights using a polearm infusing Cryo elemental power. His normal attack incorporates rapid spear strikes alongside a crossbow, poison knives, and sand-kicking. His Elemental Skill, Breaking the Rules, weaponizes Cryo damage and builds up a unique combat resource through continuous attacks to unleash enhanced skills. As a character with magic-oriented traits, his attack power scales further when paired with specific magic-type teammates.
Background
As a member of the Knights of Favonius, Lohen followed Grand Master Varka's expedition force to Nod-Krai to find challenging opponents. He eventually traveled back to Mondstadt ahead of the main group to act as a messenger, arriving in time to assist during a sudden crisis in Wolvendom where he checked on Razor.
Relationships
Grand Master Varka acknowledges Lohen's physical toughness and fondness for battle, though he views him as a handful. Prior to the expedition, Simon Page expressed concern to Varka about the difficulty of keeping an eye on both Varka and Lohen at the same time. Upon returning to Mondstadt, Lohen directly looked after Razor's safety during an emergency.
Trivia
His specialty dish is Boredom-Busting Bubblegum. His constellation is named Lepus Caedes in English, while the Chinese and Korean versions refer to it using a phrasing derived from an idiom about a cunning rabbit preparing multiple hideouts. Additionally, his in-game voice lines were re-recorded in a later patch to better align with the developers' intended voice direction.
