Rosaria

Overview

Rosaria is a character from Genshin Impact who serves as a nun in the Church of Favonius within Mondstadt. Wielding a polearm and a Cryo Vision, she stands out as an unconventional religious figure with virtually no piety toward the Anemo Archon. Despite her persistent truancy from church duties, she secretly functions as a shadow operative, eliminating hidden threats to protect the city from the darkness.

Appearance

Rosaria has pale, grayish skin, purple eyes, and dark circles under her eyes. She sports short purple hair featuring a red streak, with bangs falling between her eyes. Her attire includes a black and red nun veil accessorized with a silver tiara, a white sleeveless turtleneck top, white elbow-length gloves, and a censer tied to her wrist. On her lower body, she wears a long black slit skirt, purple fishnet pantyhose, and high-heeled medium boots, alongside silver claw rings on her fingers.

Personality

Pragmatic, sharp, and aloof, Rosaria dislikes pointless pleasantries and firmly refuses to work overtime. She frequently skips mass, prayers, and choir practice, and struggles to recall the name of Barbatos due to her lack of faith. Despite her blunt manner, she is remarkably honest with herself and possesses keen intuition for exposing deception. Behind her cold demeanor lies a practical consideration for others, offering timely aid and blunt advice while protecting Mondstadt without hesitation.

Abilities

Using her polearm, Rosaria performs the "Spear of the Church" normal attack, dealing heavy strikes with wide sweeping motions. Her Elemental Skill, "Ravaging Confession," allows her to instantly shift behind an opponent to slash and stab with Cryo damage, boosting her Critical Rate when striking from behind. Her Elemental Burst, "Rites of Termination," slashes nearby enemies before driving a frozen Ice Lance into the ground, dealing continuous AoE Cryo damage and buffing the Critical Rate of nearby party members based on her own. Her passive talent increases party movement speed at night, while her Constellation, Spinea Corona, provides benefits such as increased attack speed upon critical hits and physical resistance reduction for enemies.

Background

Born in a mountain village, Rosaria was taken as a child by a bandit group that slaughtered her family and forced her into servitude. During a failed escape, she defeated the bandit leader in single combat, acquiring her Cryo Vision and taking his place. Years later, after the Knights of Favonius dismantled the bandits, Grand Master Varka brought her to Mondstadt to give her a chance at redemption. Enrolled in the Church of Favonius as a novice, she adopted her role as Mondstadt's silent guardian, handling dangerous threats in secret.

Relationships

Rosaria often avoids Sister Barbara's persistent efforts to bring her to choir practice, though she subtly guides and protects her. Brought to Mondstadt by Grand Master Varka, she shares a bond with Razor, treating him like a younger brother and offering tough love. She shares a mutual understanding with Kaeya, who sees through her guarded exterior. She monitored Albedo closely on Dragonspine to evaluate potential dangers to the city, while holding respect for Jean's efficiency, Lisa's punctual clock-out habits, and Diluc's hidden capabilities.

Trivia

Rosaria's signature dish is the "Dinner of Judgment." Prior to her official release, fans nicknamed her "White Slime" due to her NPC model's chest size and clipping animations. In Version 2.1, her weapon inspection animation was updated to remove a spear-kicking motion to maintain consistency with shared character motion data. Additionally, her design incorporates several vampire-inspired motifs, such as her pale complexion, red accents, and nocturnal passive ability.
