Overview
Dori Sangemah Bay is an Electro character from Sumeru in the open-world RPG Genshin Impact. Known as Lord Sangemah Bay, she is an eccentric and influential merchant who owns the Palace of Alcazarzaray. Leveraging her extensive connections, she can procure almost anything—from rare experimental components to obscure items. Although her exorbitant prices often shock her customers, she possesses an extraordinary ability to grant people's wishes for the right amount of Mora.
Appearance
Dori has short pink hair with an accessory and side locks, alongside hair hanging between her yellow eyes. She wears tinted eyewear styled like a pince-nez and a large purple hat featuring golden ornaments with a dangling Electro Vision. Her outfit consists of a black bare-shoulder crop top adorned with a blue gem, white detached sleeves, and broad purple pants with overall straps. She accessorizes with gold rings and pink nail polish.
Personality
Dori is an unapologetic, money-obsessed merchant whose greatest passion is earning and counting Mora. While her enthusiastic sales pitch and shocking quotes can make her seem like a ruthless scammer, her greed is rooted in a deeply pragmatic mindset formed by past hardship. Driven by a determination never to suffer a loss due to a lack of funds, she maintains a calculated and highly reliable business approach, always delivering what her clients need.
Abilities
In battle, Dori uses a Claymore by having her Jinni spirit wield the heavy blade for her. Her Elemental Skill fires a shot from her lamp that creates homing rounds upon impact, capable of restoring her own energy under specific conditions. Her Elemental Burst summons the Jinni to link with active characters, continuously restoring their HP and Elemental Energy while creating an Electro tether between them that deals damage to surrounding enemies.
Background
In her past, Dori suffered a tragic personal loss that could have been prevented had she possessed enough money. This experience drove her to become relentless in her pursuit of wealth so she would never be helpless again. Through her cunning business acumen, she amassed vast riches and commissioned the grand Palace of Alcazarzaray. Today, her mercantile reach spans far beyond Sumeru into regions like Inazuma, Natlan, and Nad-Krai.
Relationships
Dori commissioned the architect Kaveh to build her palace, which resulted in him taking on immense debt to complete it. She maintains a brisk trade in Genius Invokation TCG cards with Cyno, though she remains cautious around his authority as a General Mahamatra. Tighnari frequently buys materials from her, though he laments her shocking prices. Additionally, she holds a long-standing business relationship with Alice, who acted as an early investor and supplier.
Trivia
In her private room at the palace, Dori keeps a massive hourglass filled with Mora instead of sand, which she gazes at purely for her own emotional comfort. She is particularly fond of foods with Mora in their name, while disliking dark-colored dishes. Instead of praying to deities, she makes a daily morning habit of chanting a self-directed incantation for her own financial success.
