Amber

Overview

Amber is a playable character in the open-world RPG Genshin Impact. Serving within the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt, she holds the distinction of being the organization's sole remaining Outrider. Celebrated for her exceptional skill with the wind glider, she is a three-time champion of Mondstadt's local gliding contest. As the first companion to join the Traveler on their journey, she serves as a warm guide and reliable ally.

Appearance

Amber is a young woman with long brown hair, M-shaped bangs, and golden-brown eyes. She wears a distinctive red hairband shaped like rabbit ears along with aviator goggles on her head. Her standard attire includes a red cropped hoodie, dark brown shorts, red gloves, over-knee socks, and white thigh-high boots with gold accents. She also has an alternate outfit titled "100% Outrider," which replaces the brown elements on her torso and her gloves with white fabric.

Personality

Amber possesses an exceptionally cheerful, outgoing, and straightforward personality. Blessed with high empathy and social adaptability, she easily approaches anyone, melting away barriers and making friends with people regardless of their background or cold demeanor. While she can sometimes be impulsive and hasty in her actions, her strong sense of justice and genuine passion drive her to help others unconditionally.

Abilities

Amber commands the Pyro element in combat using a bow. Her Elemental Skill allows her to deploy or throw "Baron Bunny," a dancing plushie decoy that draws enemy aggression before exploding to deal Pyro damage; with constellations, it can be manually detonated with a fully-charged shot. Her Elemental Burst, "Fiery Rain," showers a localized area with a dense volley of flaming arrows, rapidly hitting targets. Additionally, her passive talent reduces the gliding stamina consumption for her entire party.

Background

Amber followed in the footsteps of her grandfather, the founder of the Outriders, to join the Knights of Favonius. Four years prior to the main story, her grandfather vanished without warning, leading to the decline of the division and leaving Amber as the last remaining Outrider. Upon meeting the Traveler near Mondstadt, she bestows them with their first wind glider and helps them earn a gliding license. She actively works on the front lines, investigating anomalies and maintaining safety around Mondstadt.

Relationships

Amber works under Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, and cooperates with colleagues like Kaeya and Lisa. She shares a profound friendship with Eula, having supported her since before she joined the Knights despite the town's prejudice against Eula's clan. She also formed a deep, supportive bond with Collei during a major incident in Mondstadt, leaving a lasting positive impact on Collei's life.

Trivia

Amber is notoriously clumsy at cooking; her specialty dish, "Outrider's Champion Steak!", is famous for being burnt crisp on one side while completely raw on the other. Her grandfather originally hailed from Liyue before settling in Mondstadt, which accounts for some of her family background and connection to traditional Liyue cuisine.
