Overview
Chevreuse is a character in the action role-playing game Genshin Impact. She serves as the Captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, an elite law enforcement unit under the Maison Gardiennage in Fontaine. Wielding a polearm alongside a customized musket, she possesses a Pyro Vision aligned with Ousia. Responsible for pursuing dangerous criminals and maintaining public safety, she leads her squad with a pragmatic and resolute enforcement of justice.
Appearance
Chevreuse has long purple hair with white streaks and crossed bangs, paired with purple eyes and a facial mole under her mouth. She wears a shako cap, an eyepatch over one eye, and noise-canceling headphones around her neck alongside a black necktie and a detached collar. Her outfit consists of a short strapless dress in black and red accented with gold trim, puffy detached sleeves, and white fold-over gloves. Her legs feature black tights, white thighhigh gaiters, and brown shoes. She carries a polearm and a musket.
Personality
Chevreuse is a dedicated and serious officer who values practical criminal deterrence over public image, going so far as to recruit individuals with questionable pasts if their skills aid in maintaining law and order. Behind her stern professional demeanor, she harbors endearing personal quirks. She is an avid reader of mystery novels who practices memorable lines at home to use on duty, and she enjoys indulging in high-calorie junk food while working, burning off the calories through intense athletic training on her days off.
Abilities
Chevreuse combines polearm combat with musket marksmanship, wielding Pyro and Ousia. Her Normal Attack, Line Bayonet Thrust: Modified, delivers consecutive strikes and a lunging heavy attack. Her Elemental Skill, Short-Range Rapid Intercept, fires her musket to deal AoE Pyro DMG while providing continuous healing to active team members. When allies trigger Overloaded reactions, she gains Overcharged Balls that empower her held skill, boosting team ATK and elemental damage. Her Elemental Burst, Ring Bombardment Tactical Shift, launches an explosive shell that splits into secondary sub-munitions.
Background
Raised by a patrol officer father, Chevreuse became known as a criminal's daughter after her father was incarcerated for violating laws in pursuit of his personal justice, forcing her to endure a difficult upbringing in the underground slums of the Fleuve Cendre. Through these trials, she learned both the realities of the underworld and the core of true justice, eventually joining the Maison Gardiennage and rising to become Captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol. During the Fontinalia Festival, while supporting a film production, she investigated a real-life murder case mirroring the script, bringing the true culprit to justice while stopping a cycle of revenge.
Relationships
Chevreuse maintains a close reciprocal friendship with the fashion designer Chiori, assisting each other with official and unofficial matters. She works professionally with Wriothesley, the Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide, coordinating the processing and arrangement of high-profile convicts. She collaborates with the perfumer Emilie for forensic evidence analysis. Additionally, she has established ties with the journalist Charlotte, whom she once rescued, and the film director Xavier.
Trivia
Her name is likely derived from the French municipality of Chevreuse. Her birthday on January 10 corresponds to Chinese National Police Day and the emergency telephone number 110. Her constellation name, Sclopetum Ensiferum, combines Latin terms for musket and bayonet attachment slot. To protect her hearing from the loud reports of her customized firearm, she wears noise-canceling headphones around her neck.
