Linnea

Overview

Linnea is a character in Genshin Impact who serves as an advisor and naturalist for the Adventurers' Guild branch in Nod-Krai. Wielding a bow and the Geo element, she frequently travels across Teyvat to conduct fieldwork on obscure ecosystems. Accompanying her on her journeys is Lumi, a frost spirit companion who assists her in both exploration and battle.

Appearance

Linnea is visually distinguished by the wings growing from her head. She carries a customizable adventurer backpack on her back and is accompanied by Lumi, a small frost spirit holding crystal maracas.

Personality

Linnea is gentle and kind, often reading stories to local children. However, she loses all composure when encountering rare creatures, pursuing them with wild excitement. Due to her fae nature, she holds an instinctive aversion to iron and machinery, causing her to keep a distance from metal items. She detests wasting food and will eat almost anything edible regardless of personal taste preferences.

Abilities

Linnea utilizes Geo elemental abilities paired with a bow. Outside of combat, aimed charged shots change into utility arrows that can rapidly shatter mining nodes or capture wildlife. Her Elemental Skill summons Lumi, offering different attack modes depending on whether the skill is pressed once for continuous strikes or spammed for quick burst damage. Her Elemental Burst heals the entire party and provides dynamic HP regeneration over time, while her passive talents reduce enemy Geo resistance and enhance Moon Crystal reactions.

Background

Though a member of the rare Snowland Fae known as the Augur of Wonders, Linnea was raised by human foster parents due to a traditional changeling swap. After discovering her non-human nature, she eventually reconnected with her biological sister Celeno, helping her come to peace with her identity. In Nasha Town, she remains beloved by the orphaned youth of the Conch Gang, who look up to her as their former leader.

Relationships

Linnea is accompanied everywhere by her frost spirit partner Lumi and is the younger sister of Celeno. She shares a warm relationship with Aino, though she politely declines her mechanical gifts due to her fear of iron. She previously terrified Iruga's partner Adon by chasing him, and keeps a respectful distance from Inefa due to her mechanical construct.

Trivia

Her name is likely derived from Carl Linnaeus, the famous botanist known as the father of modern taxonomy. Additionally, references in her story to the survey ship Golden Beagle invoke historical vessels such as Francis Drake's Golden Hind and Charles Darwin's HMS Beagle.
