Appearance
Amatsukaze features long silver hair in a two-side-up style held by red-and-white windsocks, along with orange eyes and slightly flushed skin. She wears a dark brown and white long sailor dress secured at the chest with a grey scarf and a lifebuoy clip. Her attire includes a single white glove on her right hand, a black choker, a black mini-hat shaped like a funnel, and black garter straps attached to white-striped knee-high socks. Her footwear features rudder heels. Her rigging consists of a bow section labeled "Amatsukaze," quad torpedo tubes at her lower back, and a mechanical tin-toy companion named Rensouhou-kun.
Personality
Amatsukaze has a headstrong and stubborn demeanor, often reacting with sharp words. Beneath her tsundere front, however, she is a deeply attentive and caring figure. Although she finds it difficult to show direct honesty, she addresses the Admiral affectionately, prepares home-cooked meals, and stays by their side during late-night duties.
Abilities
Amatsukaze is combat-ready early on, possessing three equipment slots prior to her upgrade. She boasts high base stats in armor, anti-aircraft, and anti-submarine defense. Upon her Kai upgrade, she provides advanced gear such as the New High-Pressure Boiler and Type 3 SONAR.
Background
In history, Amatsukaze served as a testbed for high-temperature, high-pressure boilers, passing critical operational data to the construction of Shimakaze. After suffering severe damage that severed her bow, she miraculously stayed afloat and received a makeshift bow to return to duty. Within the game, she was introduced during a seasonal event before becoming available in permanent coastal maps.
Relationships
Amatsukaze shares a close connection with Shimakaze, who inherited her experimental boiler data and mirrors elements of her visual design. She also watches over her comrades in the 16th Destroyer Division—Yukikaze, Hatsukaze, and Tokitsukaze—frequently looking out for them despite their unruly behavior.
Trivia
After her ship modification, the smoke floating from her funnel hat uniquely changes into heart shapes. Her mechanical unit, Rensouhou-kun, possesses its own personality and can detach from her main bow assembly to move independently.
