Appearance
Oyashio features slightly silver-tinted black semi-long hair, anchored at her left temple with a mast-shaped hairclip, and platinum-blonde eyes with slightly upturned corners. She wears a black vest over a short-sleeved white shirt, a black pleated skirt, white gloves, black high socks, and brown loafers. Her neck ribbon is blue or purple. When heavily damaged, her black two-piece underwear is visible. She also has a limited seasonal Christmas Santa outfit.
Personality
Oyashio speaks in crisp, formal keigo and carries herself with a disciplined, samurai-like mindset, addressing even her peer Kuroshio politely. Despite her strict self-imposed professionalism, she is easily flustered when unexpected events occur, revealing a prone-to-panic side where her first-person pronoun slips from her own name to "atashi." She harbors absolute loyalty toward the Admiral, constantly addressing them as Commander, and takes pride in her cooking and general secretary duties.

Her standard combat gear includes a bridge-style backpack supported by shoulder straps, a 12.7cm twin gun mount on her right side, and a 61cm quad torpedo mount on her left, attached via articulated arms. She carries a second 12.7cm twin gun mount slung from her shoulder, a 25mm twin anti-aircraft gun strapped to her right thigh, and three depth charges mounted on her left thigh. Upgrading her yields oxygen torpedoes and a specialized 12.7cm Twin Gun Mount Model B Kai 2, with further Kai Ni modernization available.

Oyashio was introduced during the Spring 2016 event "Establish! Land-Based Air Corps." Initially a rare drop restricted to event maps, she was later added to permanent extra maps such as Brunei Anchorage (7-1) and selective temporary drops, making her broadly accessible to players while serving in naval operations.

She shares strong bonds with her 15th Destroyer Division companion Kuroshio as well as Hayashio, and deeply respects Kagerou and Shiranui, addressing them affectionately as elder sisters.
