Appearance
Takao has short black bobbed hair and red eyes. Her attire consists of a blue uniform resembling a cabin attendant outfit, complete with a blue dress shirt, a white ascot scarf, a small round blue hat, and black gloves with white cuffs. She wears a short blue tight skirt featuring a slit that reaches near the waist line, paired with black thigh-high socks attached via garter straps decorated with floatplane motifs, and red pumps fitted with rudder-like blades. A miniature bridge-like object hangs from her right shoulder. Her waist-mounted rigging features funnel-shaped arms holding her abdomen, curved red armor plating, and three twin gun mounts.
Personality
Takao possesses an earnest, cheerful, and highly energetic disposition. She is naturally caring towards younger recruits and demonstrates strong leadership during group tasks. However, her overly serious nature can make her somewhat strict and detail-oriented, prompting lighthearted teasing from her free-spirited sister Atago. While gentle in everyday life, her demeanor shifts dramatically in battle, where she displays an aggressive, bold, and fiercely confident side. She also exhibits a self-conscious side regarding her weight and diet.

Her twin gun mounts can travel along the armor rails to position themselves alongside her body, rotating forward to deliver concentrated firepower.
Background
As the eldest of the Takao-class heavy cruisers, Takao supports the fleet both in administration and on the front lines. She routinely assists with organizational tasks around the base and serves as a mentor figure to younger kanmusu.
