Appearance
She features medium-long light brown hair styled into twin braids secured with yellow propeller-shaped ornaments, and dark grey eyes. Her outfit includes a white shirt with a black sailor collar, a yellow neckerchief held by an anti-aircraft fire director, a grey corset, a black pleated miniskirt, and red boots. Ammunition belts run from her rigging's drum magazines to her thigh straps. She equips quad torpedo tubes on her back and is accompanied by two sentient Chou-10cm-hou-chan units—one of which winks while biting a bullet like a cigar—that cry when she sustains heavy damage.
Personality
Energetic and hardworking, Teruzuki exhibits a youthful, lighthearted demeanor and frequently relies on trendy slang. Due to historical trauma involving night transport missions, she experiences profound anxiety surrounding nighttime battles, supply drums, and transport duty, often putting on a brave face to hide her hesitation. She is entirely innocent and defenseless regarding physical boundaries, blithely letting others touch her equipment. She also possesses a humble appetite and is easily delighted by a full meal.
Abilities
As an Akizuki-class air-defense destroyer, Teruzuki excels in anti-air warfare. She arrives with high-angle guns combined with anti-aircraft fire directors and anti-air radar, enabling strong anti-air cut-in attacks. She provides arsenal upgrade support for her specialized weaponry. Later capability upgrades allow her to equip large radars, medium bulges, and fleet command facilities, enhancing her fleet protection and utility.
Background
First introduced as the final clear reward in the Summer 2015 event 'Counterattack! The Second Operation SN,' Teruzuki represents the advanced air-defense destroyers built to shield main fleet units. Reflecting her service in escort and supply runs, her character arc centers on overcoming memories of grueling night missions while standing as a reliable shield for her comrades.
Relationships
She adores her older sister, Akizuki, whom she affectionately calls 'Akizuki-nee,' constantly seeking her approval and wishing to reform the 61st Destroyer Division together. She addresses her historical companion Naganami respectfully as 'Naganami-san' and maintains a polite attitude toward fellow destroyers. Her sentient Chou-10cm-hou-chan turrets are fiercely protective of her, frequently speaking up or reacting when anyone attempts to push her boundaries.
Trivia
The name Teruzuki was inherited by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Akizuki-class destroyer Teruzuki (DD-116), continuing her legacy alongside her sister ships. Her official character designer famously commented on her uniquely shapely figure during her initial reveal.
