Appearance
Light Cruiser Oni features long black hair and blue eyes. In her standard appearance, she sports hair buns on her head, a sleeveless sailor-style outfit, and gloves. Her lower body is completely integrated into dark Abyssal rigging, leaving no visible legs. Upon entering her final form, her hair buns disappear, her outfit tears across her chest and abdomen to reveal skin, and faint crack-like markings appear on her body.
Personality
Light Cruiser Oni projects a menacing demeanor, threatening to sink player fleets into the ocean depths where they can never surface again. Despite her fierce attitude, she exhibits an unintended flaw in combat; her high anti-submarine capabilities cause her to obsessively attack enemy submarines, completely distracting her from surface ships.
Abilities
Despite being a light cruiser, she possesses high defensive stats, with health ranging from 210 to 270 and armor reaching up to 170 in her final form. Her armament consists of two 6-inch twin rapid-fire guns, a Mark.II surface radar, and abyssal reconnaissance planes, enabling daytime double attacks. Although she carries no dedicated torpedoes or anti-submarine gear, she retains high innate torpedo and anti-submarine stats alongside strong evasion.
Background
Light Cruiser Oni debuted during the February 2015 event, Intercept! Truk Air Raid, appearing as the E-3 boss and an E-5 node flagship. Following her introduction, she was featured in several subsequent operations, including the Spring 2015, Summer 2015, and Autumn 2016 events. She was also permanently added to normal map 4-5 as an Extra Operation guardian.
Relationships
Her design and concept draw directly from the light cruisers Naka and Agano, who were lost during the raids at Truk. She is linked to Light Cruiser Princess as a related higher-tier Abyssal entity, and shares visual structural traits with Destroyer Princess, whose lower body is similarly merged into rigging. In event maps, she frequently fights alongside Battleship Princess.
Trivia
Combining traits of Naka and Agano, she earned the player nicknames Nakano and Akagano. In contrast to Naka's self-proclaimed status as fleet idol, she is often referred to as the Idol of the Enemy Fleet. In gameplay tactics, she is famous for being easily neutralized by the submarine decoy strategy. She also appears in chapter 76 of the official four-panel comic strip.
