Overview
Kurimura Airi is a character in the mobile game Blue Archive, attending Trinity General School as a first-year student. She is the founder and central member of the After-School Sweets Club. Easygoing and fond of a peaceful pace, she treasures nothing more than eating desserts and chatting with her close friends. Above all sweets, she harbors a deep passion for mint chocolate-flavored treats.
Appearance
Airi features green eyes, a halo above her head, and long dark hair styled half-up with a large bow. Her standard school outfit consists of a light blue and white sailor-style jacket, a pleated skirt, white over-the-knee socks, loafers, and a shoulder bag. In her band ensemble, she wears three-quarter length socks while carrying a keyboard case. During a festival haunted house event, she donned a dark coverall jumpsuit paired with a hockey-style mask and a baseball bat.
Personality
Airi is a warm, gentle, and easygoing girl who brings a comforting presence to those around her. She acts as the friendly center of her social circle, helping to keep everyone close. Though relaxed in daily life, she can display a surprisingly stubborn side whenever her favorite mint chocolate treats are at stake. She occasionally worries about being too ordinary or introverted, but her core is defined by sincere devotion to her friends.
Abilities
Airi fights using a submachine gun based on the H&K MP5K named Refreshing Chocomint. As a SPECIAL supporter, her primary skill throws a massive tub of mint chocolate ice cream to deal explosive area damage while decreasing enemy movement and attack speeds, while also providing attack speed buffs to allies. When wearing her band outfit, she acts as a FRONT striker, wielding her submachine gun one-handed while carrying her heavy keyboard case.
Background
Airi created the After-School Sweets Club at Trinity General School so she could enjoy sweet snacks with friends on equal terms without formal corporate ranks. Beyond her daily café visits with clubmates, an impressive street musical performance inspired her to propose forming the student band Sugar Rush for a school festival. Serving as the band's leader and keyboardist, she led her group through rigorous practices toward a live stage performance.
Relationships
Airi shares a close bond with her fellow After-School Sweets Club members, Kyoyama Kazusa, Yutori Natsu, and Ibaragi Yoshimi. Even when Kazusa loses her temper with others, she is notably gentle toward Airi. Airi also places immense trust in Sensei, confiding her personal worries about her introverted nature, inviting Sensei to share desserts, and taking shelter from the rain together during band activities.
Trivia
When sorting characters alphabetically by given name in Japanese, Airi stands at the very top of the list. Her name is widely conjectured to be an anagram of the word ice cream. Her terrifying slasher disguise during the haunted house cafe event pays homage to famous horror film icons such as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and Ghostface from Scream.
