Overview
Toyomi Kotori is a first-year student at Millennium Science School and a member of the Engineering Club in Blue Archive. Serving alongside her fellow engineers, she possesses immense technical knowledge spanning mechanical engineering, history, and astronomy. Known throughout the academy for her cheerful demeanor and talkative nature, she is always the first on the scene whenever machine-related incidents occur, eager to provide detailed explanations of the situation.
Appearance
Kotori features short blonde hair styled with an ahoge and a side braid, paired with red eyes. She wears distinctive black-framed under-rim glasses with a teardrop shape on the left side. Standing at 151 cm, she has a short build with a slightly plump midriff. Her standard outfit includes an unbuttoned white shirt with a blue necktie positioned between her breasts, an open black fur-trimmed jacket, an unfastened black pleated skirt, short white socks, and sneakers. In her Cheer Squad form, she wears a cheerleader uniform exposing her stomach, along with an arm ring, leg ring, loose socks, and sneakers.
Personality
Kotori is a warm, social, and approachable girl who eagerly responds to any question asked of her. However, she possesses an uncontrollable passion for explaining concepts. Once triggered, she lectures endlessly from basic mechanics to obscure tangential facts, completely losing sight of her surroundings until her exhausted listeners flee. Although her long-winded nature stems from a genuine wish to impart knowledge, she feels sensitive when people run away. Around Sensei, she reveals a bashful side, often becoming flustered and running off when confronted with her romantic feelings.
Abilities
Kotori handles a heavy minigun modeled after the Dillon Aero M134D, named Professor K. In her default outfit, she acts as a Piercing-type light-armored Striker/Supporter. Her EX Skill deploys a container to a chosen location, gathering allies to provide them with a protective shield scaling off her healing stat. In her Cheer Squad outfit, she converts to an Explosive-type Special-armored Striker/Attacker, using a fan-shaped area EX Skill and boosting team critical rates and her own attack stats as allies frequently execute their EX Skills.
Background
As a member of Millennium's Engineering Club, Kotori works alongside Shiraishi Utaha and Nekozuka Hibiki to invent, repair, and modify technology across the academy. She aids the Game Development Department during main story arcs, joins infiltration missions in Eridu, and assists in the operation against the False Sanctuary. During the Halo Festival, after an engineering mishap with a support robot, she and her clubmates donned cheerleader outfits to support participants and manage venue crowds. Through individual bond interactions, she builds a close relationship with Sensei, who patiently listens to her speeches.
Relationships
Shiraishi Utaha is the leader of the Engineering Club, whom Kotori respects as a senior mentor. Nekozuka Hibiki is her fellow club member, collaborating with her on various technical tasks and event preparations. Sensei is one of the few individuals who patiently sits through her lengthy explanations, earning Kotori's deep appreciation and blossoming romantic affection.
Trivia
Her signature minigun, Professor K, carries the alternative name EX-Plain—a direct play on her tendency to explain things. Asking her about its origin triggers a lengthy lecture on the history of firearm development. Visually, her glasses feature a unique asymmetrical frame where only the bottom-left rim bends into a teardrop shape. According to developer commentary, her slightly chubby midriff design reflects her routine as an engineer who spends long hours sitting at work desks.
