Overview

Ushimaki Juri is a first-year high school student at Gehenna Academy and a member of the School Lunch Club. Working alongside club president Aikiyo Fuuka to manage the school dining hall, she strives daily to feed her fellow students. Although Juri is exceptionally earnest and passionate about cooking, her culinary skills are so disastrously bad that her dishes regularly mutate into sentient biohazards. Painfully aware of her shortcomings, she remains dedicated to improving and contributes by excelling at ingredient preparation, gardening, and cleaning.

Appearance

Juri is 15 years old and stands 170 cm tall. She features long straight pink hair with bangs, long sideburns, blue droopy eyes, and a mole beneath her eye. Her physical features include pointed ears, two horns, and a large bust. Her default attire consists of a headscarf, earrings, a white apron over a short-sleeved maid-style dress with frills and wrist cuffs, paired with black tights and loafers. Her blue halo resembles a gas stove burner made of four large and four small crosses. She carries a shotgun designated as the Supply Dept Protection Gun Type B. In her part-time outfit, her hair is tied up while wearing a Dirndl-inspired waitress uniform and high heels.

Personality

Juri stands out in Gehenna Academy as a rare voice of reason, possessing a serious, cheerful, and deeply caring nature. Highly considerate of others, she deeply respects her club president, Aikiyo Fuuka. Despite her immense passion for cooking, Juri is painfully self-aware of her disastrous culinary results and holds a modest self-image. Rather than giving up, she shows remarkable perseverance in attempting to rebuild her cooking skills from the ground up. Outside of actual cooking, she is diligent and highly efficient, throwing herself wholeheartedly into ingredient evaluation, gardening, and cleaning.

Abilities

Juri possesses a bizarre phenomenon where any food she touches mutates into dangerous biological entities, such as the writhing, tentacled purple pancake monster known as Pan-chan. She occasionally uses firearms during preparation under the belief that higher firepower saves cooking time. Despite her disastrous cooking, her peripheral skills are top-tier, including exceptional ingredient evaluation, prep work, and cleaning efficiency that surpasses Millennium cleaning robots. In combat as a SPECIAL support unit, her EX skill drops a pancake to pull enemies in an area to a target spot while inflicting poison, complemented by skills that slow enemy attack speed and boost team max HP. In her STRIKER part-time role, she acts as a front-line tank whose EX skill deals damage, chill, and fear to a single target, while her passive and sub skills enhance healing and recover her health upon being hit by crowd control effects.

Background

As a member of the School Lunch Club, Juri wakes up early every morning to assist Aikiyo Fuuka in preparing meals for the entire student body of Gehenna. Because her direct involvement in cooking routinely results in dangerous culinary monsters, Fuuka usually directs her energy toward supportive tasks like ingredient procurement, prep, and managing the club's vegetable garden. Across various stories, Juri frequently encounters chaos stemming from her cooking efforts. During instances when Fuuka is absent, Juri's attempts to provide meals inadvertently unleash biohazards like giant Pan-chan monsters across campus. Even while working a holiday part-time job at a cafe, taking over kitchen duties leads to another creature outbreak. Nevertheless, with help from Sensei and her allies, she overcomes these crises and continues striving to improve her culinary skills.

Shishidou Izumi A member of the Gourmet Research Society and the sole individual capable of eating Juri's mutated culinary creations with genuine enjoyment without suffering adverse health effects.

Himiya Iori A member of the Disciplinary Committee who once collapsed after drinking Juri's homemade orange juice during a routine inspection. The Disciplinary Committee frequently intervenes when Juri's food creations go out of control.

Because her cooking frequently gives birth to sentient monsters like Pan-chan, fans and in-game characters often joke that her culinary skills border on alchemy or necromancy. Her firearm, designated as the Supply Dept Protection Gun Type B, is modeled after the WWII German M30 Luftwaffe Drilling, a rare survival weapon issued to aviators.
