Midori

Overview

Midori Saiba is a character from the mobile game Blue Archive. She is a first-year student at Millennium Science School and serves as the primary illustrator and visual designer for the Game Development Department. Working alongside her twin sister Momoi Saiba, Midori focuses on pixel art and classic game aesthetics, acting as one of the more grounded members within their chaotic club environment.

Appearance

Midori is a petite girl with short blonde hair and green eyes. She wears a black headset with green cat-ear attachments and a light-green halo featuring a concentric circle and reticle-like cross design. Her standard outfit consists of a white button-up shirt with a small blue tie, blue-black suspender shorts with scalloped edging, black thigh-high socks, and ankle boots. Over this, she wears an oversized jacket with a green hood, a Millennium logo on the right sleeve, and a cat tail accessory attached to the back. In her maid outfit, her hair is tied in a low ponytail, accompanied by a maid headband, a green-and-white dress, and white garter stockings. For cold environments, she wears a winter parka with a scarf, gloves, and tights.

Personality

Unlike her energetic and expressive twin sister, Midori is quiet, reserved, and serious. Though initially not deeply invested in gaming, she fell in love with the hobby after playing a system given to her by Momoi. She is often seen as the rational one in her club with good domestic skills, though her scheduling can be prone to last-minute rushes. Around figures she cares about, she often tries to project a mature persona, occasionally displaying a surprisingly calculating and sweet demeanor.

Abilities

In battle, Midori wields a green designated marksman rifle modeled after the H&K G3SG/1, named 'Fresh Inspiration,' which features a pink cat mascot attached to the trigger guard. Her EX Skill fires upon up to five enemies in sequence; if paired in the same team as Momoi, it applies additional poison damage over time. She also possesses a passive ability to periodically heal the ally with the lowest health. In her Maid attire, her attack element shifts to Sonic, utilizing an EX Skill that delivers a devastating single-target sequence of hits.

Background

To save the Game Development Department from closure, Midori and her sister explored the ruins of Millennium in search of legendary game-making secrets. There, they discovered the robot AL-1S, whom they named Aris Tendou and welcomed into the club as a new member. Together, they developed a game that earned a special prize at the Millennium Grand Prix, securing their club's survival. Since then, Midori has supported her club members through major crises, including the rescue mission at Eridu and operations across Kivotos.

Relationships

Midori is the younger twin sister of Momoi Saiba, serving as her core partner in game design despite their differing personalities. She works under Yuzu Hanaoka in the Game Development Department and helped welcome Aris Tendou into the group. Yuuka Hayase from the Seminar student council frequently oversees their club's activities, while Toki Asuma of C&C acknowledges Midori's key role in managing their team.

Trivia

Her surname Saiba is a play on the word 'Cyber,' matching her electronic gaming focus. Statistics within her club suggest her win rate against her sister Momoi in video games is slightly higher. She also turns out to be surprisingly skilled at arcade crane games. In the cafe, placing the air hockey table furniture triggers a unique dual interaction animation specifically when both Midori and Momoi are present together.
